1. This is the fate of the living, of all mankind
So look upon him with insight, that you may see

2. This is the tomb of one who donned the garb
Of one who gained his wishes and glory like a fruitful branch

3. Oh how highly he was regarded in the court of kings
Yet how simply he lived in the wilderness

4. Then he responded to his Creator's call
And at the door of the Bestower of bounties he presented himself

5. So call upon God, and say while recording
A guest has arrived at Your door, seeking shelter
