1. I am a man from the clan of Hashim
My family contains elegant date palms

2. I have resolved not to praise one with glory
Or with pride and arrogance

3. Except those from the youth of Hashim
For they have a hand I am grateful for

4. Indeed they have a hand whose gratitude
Is right even if the deniers deny it

5. O Ahmed, the bestower of all good
Who was mercy sent down upon us

6. Hamza and the flier are in Heaven
So Ja'far may call wherever he wishes

7. From them is our guide whom we
After Iman see clearly through

8. When the faith was dark and guidance folded up
And people on earth rebelled and grew arrogant

9. That was Ali son of Abu Talib
He to whom Khaybar surrendered

10. It surrendered not by force
Until its mighty throne quaked

11. And the day of Sal' when the transgressor
Amr bin Abd Wadd came attacking

12. Attacking with the sword, subduing as
A stud camel with slit nostrils attacks

13. When he had the sword over his head
White with rage, its edge cutting

14. He fell like a palm trunk and his veins
Poured out red milk from them

15. He breathed out hastened blood from his mouth
As if the yellow one was watching him
