1. I say, when I saw people going astray
In every art without knowledge, wandering blindly,

2. Among dissenters, deserters, and turncoats,
They professed the faith of Abu Musa and the Postponers.

3. I profess the faith al-Wasiyy professed
The day of al-Khuraibah, killing the Divestites.

4. And the faith he professed the day of the River -
I profess it, and my hand joins his in the battle of the two hosts,

5. In shedding the blood it shed one day when present,
And God brought forth the scales of justice.

6. That blood, O Lord, is on my neck collectively,
Then purify me completely after it, amen, amen!

7. Amen, from the like of them in their state -
In noble youths who emigrated for God, buying Him through striving.

8. They want none but God their Lord,
Excellent is the goal the desirers sought!

9. You were blessed in the early days of time when it inscribed
Upon it “Blessed” and “Damned”.

10. And you will never cease to be erased by God
In the loins of the righteous forefathers,

11. Who selects the best of every generation for you -
Not the base, nor the inferior, to oblige you.

12. Until He brought you to an appointed nation
Made the best of those who pray because of your merit.

13. So you are a complete blessing from God upon us
And the good was treasured up.

14. God accepts no deed from a servant for Him
Nor an enemy of yours, the blind misguided.

15. You are the Trustee, trustee of al-Mustafa -
Verses descended to you from the All-High in the Furqan.

16. And you are to Ahmad the Guide as was
Established by Moses for Aaron.

17. He gave you knowledge from Him, endowed you with it,
So you were trustworthy in it, secure in it.

18. Is there any deed like your rubbing his sandals,
Had the deniers of your merit not been vile?
