1. Did not Ali pray before them all
And profess God as Lord of sun and star?
١. ألم يصلّ عليٌّ قبلَهم حِججاً
ووحّدَ الله ربَّ الشمسِ والقمرِ
2. Yet this people and their partisan throng
Worship but wood and stone that will not stir
٢. وهؤلاء ومن في حزبِ دينهمِ
قومٌ صلاتُهم للعودِ والحَجَرِ
