1. On the day of Badr, when the aged Shaybah
Faced him with a sharp sword, its blades gleaming,

ุจุฏุฑู ุญููู ุจุงุฑุฒู ุดูุจุฉ
ุจูุนูุถุจู ุญูุณุงู
ู ูุงูุฃุณูููุฉู ุชููู
ูุนู
2. He struck him with the sword until he made him
Taste the death of the dying as the spears bow down.

ูุงูุง ูุงูู
ูููุงุชู ุชูุฑูููุนู
3. And made him prey for a wolf and old hyena,
With the black crows hovering over him.
ูฃ. ูุตููุฑู ููุจุงู ูุฐุฆุจู ูููุดูุนูู
ู
ุนููู ู
ู ุงูุบูุฑุจุงู ุณูุฏู ูุฃุจููุนู
4. And on the day the polytheists came with their army,
And Amr ibn Abd wearing iron armor,

ุฌุงุกู ุงูู
ุดุฑูููู ุจุฌู
ุนููู
ูุนู
ุฑู ุจู ุนุจุฏู ูู ุงูุญุฏูุฏู ู
ููููุนู
5. He sent him back, saying the Prophet told him
To return to fulfill a need, so let each one return.
ูฅ. ูุฌุฏููููููุงู ูู ุฅูู ุงููุจููู ูุฑุฏู
ุนูู ุญุงุฌุฉู ูุงุฑุฌุน ููููู ูููุฑุฌุนู
6. Thrice he returned, each time sent back,
Until divinely aided, he knocked on the door.
ูฆ. ูุนุงุฏู ุซูุงุซุงู ููู ุฐุงูู ููุฑููุฏู
ูุฃููู ุจุชุฃููุฏู ุฅูู ุงูุจุงุจ ููููุฑูุนู
7. The trusted gatekeeper heard his knocking
And said, โEnterโ, though he was about to leave.

ูุนูู ุงููุฑุนู ุงููุตููู ููุจุงุจููู
ููุงู ูู ุงุฏุฎู ุจุนุฏูู
ุง ูุงุฏู ูุฑุฌุนู
8. And said he came once, twice and thrice,
Each time turned away. This gladdened the Messenger,
ูจ. ููุงู ูู ููุดูู ููุฏ ุฌุฆุชู ู
ุฑูุฉู
ูุฃุฎุฑู ูุฃุฎุฑู ูููู ุฐูู ุฃูุฏูุนู
9. And displeased those who do not desire that.
They cut off their noses out of spite.
ูฉ. ููุณูุฑูู ุฑุณููู ุงููู ุฃููู ูุตููููู
ูุฃููู ุงูุฐู ูุง ููุดุชูู ุฐุงู ููุฌุฏุนู
10. And he said, โNone will love you truthfully
Except a pious, God-fearing believer.

ุง ุฅู ููุญุจูู ุตุงุฏูู
ู
ู ุงููุงุณ ุฅูุงู ู
ุคู
ูู ู
ุชูุฑููุนู
11. And none will forsake you except a hypocrite,
Who abandons truth and revolts against people.โ
ูกูก. ูููููุงู ุฅูุงู ูุงูุฑู ูู
ูุงููู
ููุงุฑูู ูู ุงูุญูู ุงูุฃูุงู
ู ูููุฎูููุนู
12. When the Prophet had conveyed the revelation, he prayed for him,
Before the afternoon prayer, as the sun was setting.

ูุง ูุถู ูุญู ุงููุจูู ุฏุนุง ูู
ููู
ููู ุตููู ุงูุนุตุฑู ูุงูุดู
ุณู ุชูููุฒูุนู
13. The sun returned for him after its setting,
Rising again in the early night.
ูกูฃ. ูุฑูุฏูุช ุนูููู ุงูุดู
ุณู ุจุนุฏ ุบูุฑูุจููุง
ูุตุงุฑ ููุง ูู ุฃูููู ุงููููู ู
ูุทููุนู
14. And He settled him alone in the Mosque of Purity
And married him to whomever He willed to elevate.
ูกูค. ูุฃุณููู ูู ู
ูุณุฌุฏ ุงูุทูููุฑ ูุญุฏูู
ูุฒูููุฌู ูุงูููู ู
ู ุดุงุกู ููุฑููุนู
15. His companion in it was the Trustee, none other,
As their doors in the Mosque of Purity were opened.

ุฌุงููุฑููู ููู ุงููุตููู ุบูุฑูู
ูุฃุจูุงุจูู
ูู ู
ุณุฌุฏู ุงูุทูููุฑู ุดูุฑููุนู
16. They closed them from God's sincere friend,
Blocking them against his closure, and being obstinate.
ูกูฆ. ููุงู ููู
ุณูุฏููุง ุนู ุงูููู ุตุงุฏูุงู
ูุถูููููุง ุจูุง ุนู ุณูุฏูููุง ูุชู
ูููุนูุง
17. Some men stood up citing kinship,
Though in their desired aims there was no hope.
ูกูง. ููุงู
ู ุฑุฌุงูู ูุฐูุฑููู ูุฑุงุจุฉู
ูู
ุง ุซู
ู ููู
ุง ูุจุชุบู ุงูููู
ู ู
ูุทู
ูุนู
18. One of them blamed him, a maternal uncle,
Who had a place with the uncle.
ูกูจ. ูุนุงุชุจู ูู ุฐุงู ู
ููู
ู
ุนุงุชูุจู
ููุงู ูู ุนู
ูุงู ูููุนู
ู ู
ูููุถูุนู
19. He said, โYou evicted your uncle against his will,
And settled this one, though your uncle complains.โ
ูกูฉ. ููุงูู ูู ุฃุฎุฑุฌุชู ุนู
ูููู ูุงุฑูุงู
ูุฃุณููุชู ูุฐุง ุฅู ุนู
ูู ููุฌูุฒูุนู
20. He said, โO uncle, it was not I who did this to you,
Rather it was God, so be content.โ
ูขู . ููุงู ูู ูุง ุนู
ู ู
ุง ุฃูุง ุจุงูุฐู
ูุนูุชู ุจูู
ูุฐุง ุจู ุงููู ูุงููุนูุง
21. They left wretched, slain,
Captive to a land, surrounded by prowling hyenas.
ูขูก. ย ุดูููุงู ุตุฑูุนุงู ููุฌูููู
ุฑููููุงู ุจูุงุนู ุญูููู ุงูุถููุจูุนู ุชูุฎูู
ูุนู
22. And my Lord destroyed them in their rage
As He destroyed the tyrants of โAd and Thamud in the past.

ุฑุจูู ูุฑูุฏูููุง ุจูุบูุธูู
ูู
ุง ุฃููููููุชู ุนุงุฏู ุงูุทุบุงุฉู ูุชูุจููุนู
23. In the sandal strap is a clear lesson
For one who reflects, when he said, as the sandal was patched,
ูขูฃ. ููู ุฎุงุตูู ุงูููุนูู ุงูุจูุงูู ูุนุจุฑุฉู

ุนุชูุจูุฑู ุฅุฐ ูุงู ูุงูููุนูู ุชูุฑููุนู
24. โAmong you is one who interprets it without error,
Who will fight after me, not ceasing to rage and plunder.โ
ูขูค. ูุฃุตุญุงุจู ูู ู
ุฌู
ุนู ุฅู ู
ููู
ูุฃููุณููู
ุดููุงู ุฅููู ุชูุทูููุนู
25. Abu Bakr said, โI am him.โ He said โNo.โ
Abu Hafs said, โI am him,โ so step aside!
ูขูฅ. ุฅู
ุงู
ุงู ุนูู ุชุฃููููู ุบูุฑู ุฌุงุฆูุฑู
ูููุงุชู ุจูุนุฏู ูุง ููุตููู ูููููููุนู
26. He said to them, โNo, no! But he is my brother,
And the patcher of my sandal, so recognize the mender.โ
ูขูฆ. ููุงู ุฃุจู ุจูุฑู ุฃูุง ูู ูุงูู ูุง
ููุงู ุฃุจู ุญูุตู ุฃูุง ูู ูุงุณูููุนู
27. In the bird Umm Ayman brought, a lesson
For those pleased and content with the truth.
ูขูง. ููุงู ููู
ูุง ูุง ูููููู ุฃุฎู
ูุฎุงุตูู ููุนูู ูุงุนุฑููููู ุงูู
ูุฑููููุนู
28. He said, โMy God, give to Your servant what You love,
And God's love is highest and most noble.โ
ูขูจ. ููู ุทุงุฆุฑู ุฌุงุกุช ุจู ุฃู
ุฃูู
ูู
ุจูุงูู ูู
ู ุจุงูุญููู ููุฑุถู ูููููููุนู
29. So that he may eat this with me and attain it.
So Ali came, though some tried to prevent him.
ูขูฉ. ููุงู ุฅููู ุขุชู ุนุจุฏูู ุจุงูุฐู
ุชูุญุจู ูุญุจูู ุงูููู ุฃุนูู ูุฃูุฑููุนู
30. And on the Day of the Garden there was a lesson
In the words of the Messenger, as his eyes teared up,

ู ูุฐุง ู
ุนู ูููุงููู
ูุฌุงุกู ุนูููู ู
ู ููุตูุฏูู ูููู
ููุนู
31. He said, โFor what do you cry?โ He said, โFrom
The resentments of people, the worst of which I fear
ูฃูก. ููุฏ ูุงู ูู ููู
ุงูุญุฏุงุฆูู ุนุจุฑุฉู
ููููู ุฑุณููู ุงููู ูุงูุนููู ุชูุฏู
ูุนู
32. Will manifest against you after my death.
What should be done, when God guides in that?โ
ูฃูข. ููุงู ุนููู ู
ู
ู ุชูุจูู ููุงู ู
ูู
ุถุบุงุฆูู ููู
ู ุดูุฑูููู
ุฃุชูููุนู
33. And on the day the Prophet Muhammad privately conversed with him,
Confiding to him what he willed, disclosing secrets,
ูฃูฃ. ุนููู ููุฏ ููุจุฏูููุง ุจุนุฏ ู
ููุชุชู
ูู
ุงุฐุง ููุฏูุชู ุงูููู ูู ุฐุงู ููุตููุนู
34. They said, โHe prolonged his private talk with his cousin,
His confidential conversation is betrayal and leads to ruin.โ

ู ูุงุฌุงู ุงููุจููู ู
ุญู
ุฏู
ููุณููุฑ ุฅููู ู
ุง ููุฑูุฏ ูููุทูููุนู
35. He said to them, โThis morning I did not draw him close,
Rather God conferred with him.โ But they did not refrain.
ูฃูฅ. ููุงู ุฃุทุงู ุงูููู
ููุฌูู ุงุจู ุนู
ูู
ู
ูุงุฌุงุชูู ุจุบููู ูููุจุบูู ู
ูุตุฑุน
36. He saw a stray coin, ceaselessly
Gesturing with it in his palm, calling out loudly,
ูฃูฆ. ููุงู ููู
ูุณุช ุงูุบุฏุงุฉ ุงูุชุฌูุชู
ุจู ุงููู ูุงุฌุงู ููู
ูุชูุฑุนูุง
37. As night's darkness overwhelmed,
And market folk prepared to disperse
ูฃูง. ูุฃุจุตุฑ ุฏููุงุฑุงู ุทูุฑูุญุงู ููู
ูุฒู
ู
ูุดูุฑุงู ุจู ูููุงู ูููุงุฏู ูููุณู
ูุนู
38. To a kind-handed, blessed seller
From whom good was anticipated and good is pursued.
ูฃูจ. ูู
ุงู ุจู ูุงููููู ููุบุดู ุณูุงุฏูู
ููุฏ ูู
ูู ุฃููู ุงูุณููููู ุฃู ูุชุตุฏููุนูุง
39. He said, โBuy some food with this.โ So he sold it to him.
โThe coin is yoursโ he said, โand all love in its entirety.โ
ูฃูฉ. ุฅูู ุจูููุนู ุณูู
ุญู ุงููุฏููู ู
ุจุงุฑูู
ุชูุณูู
ููู ุงูุฎูุฑู ูุงูุฎูุฑู ููุชูุจูุนู
40. That coin's gold was not heated
Nor was that food from what was grown in the land.
ูคู . ููุงู ูู ุจูุนูู ุทุนุงู
ุงู ูุจุงุนููู
ููุงู ูู ุงูุฏููุงุฑู ูุงูุญูุจูู ุฃุฌู
ูุนู
41. Gabriel made a pact with him, and the guest was Ahmad.
Thus goodness and righteousness attained their utmost.

ูู ุชูุจุฑู
ููุง ุงูุญูุจ ู
ู
ูุง ูุงู ูู ุงูุฃุฑุถู ููุฒุฑูุนู
42. And on the eve when the people of Najran came
To him, performing the Hajj to al-Masih, and acted insolently,
ูคูข. ูุจุงูุนู ุฌุจุฑููู ูุงูุถููู ุฃุญู
ุฏู
ูุซู
ูู ุชูุงูู ุงูุฎูุฑ ูุงูุจุฑู ุฃุฌู
ุน
43. Rejecting his words as disbelief
After hearing what he said about him, how amazing!
ูคูฃ. ููู ุฃููู ูุฌุฑุงูู ุนุดููุฉ ุฃูุจููุง
ุฅููู ูุญูุฌูููุง ุจุงูู
ุณูุญู ูุฃุจุฏูุนูุง
44. He said, โCome, let us invoke our sons together,
And your sons, then our women.โ So they gathered.
ูคูค. ูุฑุฏูููุง ุนููู ุงููููู ูููุฑุงู
ููุฏ ุณู
ูุนูุง ู
ุง ูุงู ููู ูุฃุฑูุนูุง
45. โAnd ourselves and your own selves together,
To bring us, in lineage, together.โ
ูคูฅ. ููุงู ุชุนุงููุง ููุฏุนู ุฃุจูุงุกููุง ู
ุนุงู
ูุงุจูุงุกููู
ุซูู
ู ุงููุณุงุกู ูุฃุฌู
ูุนูุง
46. They said, โYes.โ โThen gather your monks on the morrow,
Though there is among the people spite and haste.โ
ูคูฆ. ูุฃููุณููุง ูุฏุนู ูุฃููุณููู
ู
ุนุงู
ููุฌู
ุนููุง ููู ู
ู ุงูุฃุตูู ู
ูุฌูู
ูุนู
47. They came, as did al-Mustafa and the son of his uncle,
And Fatima and the two grandsons, to implore
ูคูง. ููุงููุง ูุนู
ูุงุฌู
ุน ููุจุงูููููู ุจููุฑุฉู
ูููููู
ู ููู ุดูุฑูุฉ ูุชุณุฑููุนู
48. God at the set time between them.
When they saw them, they recoiled and trembled.
ูคูจ. ูุฌุงุคูุง ูุฌุงุก ุงูู
ุตุทูู ูุงุจูู ุนู
ูู
ููุงุทู
ู ูุงูุณูุจุทุงูู ูู ููุชุถุฑูุนูุง
49. He said to him, โSlow down, O Buraydah! Do not
Insult Ali, or in spite of me you will be pursued.โ
ูคูฉ. ุฅูู ุงูููู ูู ุงูููุชู ุงูุฐู ูุงู ุจูููู
ููู
ูุง ุฑูุฃููููู
ุฃุญุฌู
ูุง ูุชูุถุนุถุนูุง
50. โGrant me favor, O Buraydah! He has never ceased
To be with truth and me completely imbued.โ
ูฅู . ููุงู ูู ู
ู ูุง ุจูุฑูุฏุฉู ูุง ุชููู
ูุฅู ุจุฑุบู
ู ูู ุนูููู ุชูุชูุจููุนู
51. โAfter me, your master is Ali, be certain,
And expect his confrontations after this confrontation to ensue.โ

ูููู ุนูููู ูุง ุจูุฑูุฏุฉู ูู
ููุฒู
ูุฅููู ูุฐุง ู
ูู ุนูู ุงูุญููู ููุทูุจูุนู
52. With hasty repentance he failed. Indeed,
He insulted Ali maliciously and was decked in armor.

ููุงุฆูุนููู ุจุนุฏ ุงููููุนุฉู ุชูุณุฑูุนู
