Faced him with a sharp sword, its blades gleaming,

ุจูุนูŽุถุจู ุญูุณุงู…ู ูˆุงู„ุฃุณู†ู‘ูŽุฉู ุชูŽู„ู…ูŽุนู

2. He struck him with the sword until he made him
Taste the death of the dying as the spears bow down.

ูข. ูุจุงุฏุฑู‡ ุจุงู„ุณูŠู ุญุชู‰ ุฃุฐุงู‚ู‡
ุญูู…ุงู… ุงู„ู…ู†ุงูŠุง ูˆุงู„ู…ู†ูŠู‘ุงุชู ุชูŽุฑู’ูƒูŽุนู

3. And made him prey for a wolf and old hyena,
With the black crows hovering over him.

ูฃ. ูˆุตูŠู‘ุฑู‡ ู†ู‡ุจุงู‹ ู„ุฐุฆุจู ูˆู‚ูŽุดู’ุนูŽู…ู
ุนู„ูŠู‡ ู…ู† ุงู„ุบูุฑุจุงู† ุณูˆุฏูŒ ูˆุฃุจู‚ูŽุนู

4. And on the day the polytheists came with their army,
And Amr ibn Abd wearing iron armor,

ูค. ูˆููŠ ูŠูˆู… ุฌุงุกูŽ ุงู„ู…ุดุฑูƒูˆู†ูŽ ุจุฌู…ุนูู‡ู…
ูˆุนู…ุฑูˆ ุจู† ุนุจุฏู ููŠ ุงู„ุญุฏูŠุฏู ู…ู‚ู†ู‘ูŽุนู

5. He sent him back, saying the Prophet told him
To return to fulfill a need, so let each one return.

ูฅ. ูุฌุฏู‘ูŽู„ู‡ูู‚ุงู„ ู„ู‡ ุฅู†ู‘ ุงู„ู†ุจูŠู‘ูŽ ูˆุฑุฏู‡
ุนู„ู‰ ุญุงุฌุฉู ูุงุฑุฌุน ูˆูƒู„ู‘ูŒ ู„ูŠูŽุฑุฌุนู

6. Thrice he returned, each time sent back,
Until divinely aided, he knocked on the door.

ูฆ. ูุนุงุฏูŽ ุซู„ุงุซุงู‹ ูƒู„ู‘ ุฐุงูƒูŽ ูŠูŽุฑู‘ูุฏู‡
ูุฃู‡ูˆู‰ ุจุชุฃูŠูŠุฏู ุฅู„ู‰ ุงู„ุจุงุจ ูŠูŽู‚ู’ุฑูŽุนู

7. The trusted gatekeeper heard his knocking
And said, โ€œEnterโ€, though he was about to leave.

ูง. ูุงุณู…ูŽุนู‡ู ุงู„ู‚ุฑุนูŽ ุงู„ูˆุตูŠู‘ู ู„ูุจุงุจูู‡ู
ูู‚ุงู„ ู„ู‡ ุงุฏุฎู„ ุจุนุฏูŽู…ุง ูƒุงุฏูŽ ูŠุฑุฌุนู

8. And said he came once, twice and thrice,
Each time turned away. This gladdened the Messenger,

ูจ. ูˆู‚ุงู„ ู„ู‡ ูŠูŽุดูƒูˆ ูˆู‚ุฏ ุฌุฆุชู ู…ุฑู‘ุฉู‹
ูˆุฃุฎุฑู‰ ูˆุฃุฎุฑู‰ ูƒู„ู‘ูŽ ุฐู„ูƒ ุฃูŽุฏูุนู

9. And displeased those who do not desire that.
They cut off their noses out of spite.

ูฉ. ููŽุณูŽุฑู‘ูŽ ุฑุณูˆู„ูŽ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ุฃูƒู„ู ูˆุตูŠู‘ูู‡ู
ูˆุฃู†ูู ุงู„ุฐูŠ ู„ุง ูŠูŽุดุชู‡ูŠ ุฐุงูƒ ูŠูุฌุฏุนู

10. And he said, โ€œNone will love you truthfully
Except a pious, God-fearing believer.

ูกู . ูˆู‚ุงู„ ู„ู‡ ู…ุง ุฅู† ูŠูุญุจู‘ูƒ ุตุงุฏูู‚
ู…ู† ุงู„ู†ุงุณ ุฅู„ุงู‘ ู…ุคู…ู†ูŒ ู…ุชูˆุฑู‘ูุนู

11. And none will forsake you except a hypocrite,
Who abandons truth and revolts against people.โ€

ูกูก. ูˆูŠูŽู‚ู„ุงูƒ ุฅู„ุงู‘ ูƒุงูุฑูŒ ูˆู…ู†ุงูู‚ูŒ
ูŠูุงุฑู‚ู ููŠ ุงู„ุญู‚ู‘ ุงู„ุฃู†ุงู…ูŽ ูˆูŠูŽุฎูŽู„ูŽุนู

12. When the Prophet had conveyed the revelation, he prayed for him,
Before the afternoon prayer, as the sun was setting.

ูกูข. ูู„ู…ู‘ุง ู‚ุถู‰ ูˆุญูŠ ุงู„ู†ุจูŠู‘ ุฏุนุง ู„ู‡
ูˆู„ู… ูŠูƒู ุตู„ู‘ู‰ ุงู„ุนุตุฑูŽ ูˆุงู„ุดู…ุณู ุชูŽู†ู’ุฒูุนู

13. The sun returned for him after its setting,
Rising again in the early night.

ูกูฃ. ูุฑูุฏู‘ุช ุนู„ูŠู‡ู ุงู„ุดู…ุณู ุจุนุฏ ุบูุฑูˆุจูู‡ุง
ูุตุงุฑ ู„ู‡ุง ููŠ ุฃูˆู‘ู„ู ุงู„ู„ูŠู„ู ู…ูŽุทู„ูŽุนู

14. And He settled him alone in the Mosque of Purity
And married him to whomever He willed to elevate.

ูกูค. ูˆุฃุณูƒู†ู‡ ููŠ ู…ูŽุณุฌุฏ ุงู„ุทู‘ูู‡ุฑ ูˆุญุฏูŽู‡
ูˆุฒูˆู‘ูŽุฌู‡ ูˆุงู„ู„ู‡ู ู…ู† ุดุงุกูŽ ูŠูŽุฑููŽุนู

15. His companion in it was the Trustee, none other,
As their doors in the Mosque of Purity were opened.

ูกูฅ. ู…ุฌุงูˆูุฑูู‡ู ููŠู‡ ุงู„ูˆุตูŠู‘ู ุบูŠุฑูู‡
ูˆุฃุจูˆุงุจู‡ู… ููŠ ู…ุณุฌุฏู ุงู„ุทู‘ูู‡ุฑู ุดูุฑู‘ูŽุนู

16. They closed them from God's sincere friend,
Blocking them against his closure, and being obstinate.

ูกูฆ. ูู‚ุงู„ ู„ู‡ู… ุณูุฏู‘ูˆุง ุนู† ุงู„ู„ู‡ู ุตุงุฏู‚ุงู‹
ูุถูŽู†ู‘ููˆุง ุจู‡ุง ุนู† ุณูŽุฏู‘ูู‡ุง ูˆุชู…ู†ู‘ูŽุนูˆุง

17. Some men stood up citing kinship,
Though in their desired aims there was no hope.

ูกูง. ูู‚ุงู…ูŽ ุฑุฌุงู„ูŒ ูŠุฐูƒุฑูˆู†ูŽ ู‚ุฑุงุจุฉู‹
ูˆู…ุง ุซู…ู‘ ููŠู…ุง ูŠุจุชุบูŠ ุงู„ู‚ูˆู…ู ู…ูŽุทู…ูŽุนู

18. One of them blamed him, a maternal uncle,
Who had a place with the uncle.

ูกูจ. ูุนุงุชุจู‡ ููŠ ุฐุงูƒ ู…ู†ู‡ู… ู…ุนุงุชูุจูŒ
ูˆูƒุงู† ู„ู‡ ุนู…ู‘ุงู‹ ูˆู„ู„ุนู…ู‘ ู…ูŽูˆู’ุถูุนู

19. He said, โ€œYou evicted your uncle against his will,
And settled this one, though your uncle complains.โ€

ูกูฉ. ูู‚ุงู„ูŽ ู„ู‡ ุฃุฎุฑุฌุชูŽ ุนู…ู‘ูŽูƒูŽ ูƒุงุฑู‡ุงู‹
ูˆุฃุณูƒู†ุชูŽ ู‡ุฐุง ุฅู† ุนู…ู‘ูƒ ูŠูŽุฌู’ุฒูŽุนู

20. He said, โ€œO uncle, it was not I who did this to you,
Rather it was God, so be content.โ€

ูขู . ูู‚ุงู„ ู„ู‡ ูŠุง ุนู…ู‘ ู…ุง ุฃู†ุง ุจุงู„ุฐูŠ
ูุนู„ุชู ุจูƒู… ู‡ุฐุง ุจู„ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ูุงู‚ู†ุนูˆุง

21. They left wretched, slain,
Captive to a land, surrounded by prowling hyenas.

ูขูก. ย ุดูู„ูˆุงู‹ ุตุฑูŠุนุงู‹ ู„ูˆุฌู‡ูู‡ู
ุฑูŽู‡ูŠู†ุงู‹ ุจู‚ุงุนู ุญูˆู„ูŽู‡ ุงู„ุถู‘ูŽุจู’ุนู ุชูŽุฎู’ู…ูŽุนู

22. And my Lord destroyed them in their rage
As He destroyed the tyrants of โ€˜Ad and Thamud in the past.

ูขูข. ูˆุฃู‡ู„ูƒู‡ู… ุฑุจู‘ูŠ ูˆุฑูุฏู‘ููˆุง ุจูุบูŠุธู‡ู…
ูƒู…ุง ุฃูู‡ู„ููƒูŽุชู’ ุนุงุฏู ุงู„ุทุบุงุฉู ูˆุชูุจู‘ูŽุนู

23. In the sandal strap is a clear lesson
For one who reflects, when he said, as the sandal was patched,

ูขูฃ. ูˆููŠ ุฎุงุตูู ุงู„ู†ู‘ุนู„ู ุงู„ุจูŠุงู†ู ูˆุนุจุฑุฉูŒ
ู„ูู…ุนุชูŽุจูุฑู ุฅุฐ ู‚ุงู„ ูˆุงู„ู†ู‘ุนู„ู ุชูุฑู‚ูŽุนู

24. โ€œAmong you is one who interprets it without error,
Who will fight after me, not ceasing to rage and plunder.โ€

ูขูค. ู„ุฃุตุญุงุจู‡ ููŠ ู…ุฌู…ุนู ุฅู† ู…ู†ูƒู…
ูˆุฃู†ูุณููƒู… ุดูˆู‚ุงู‹ ุฅู„ูŠู‡ ุชูŽุทู„ู‘ูŽุนู

25. Abu Bakr said, โ€œI am him.โ€ He said โ€œNo.โ€
Abu Hafs said, โ€œI am him,โ€ so step aside!

ูขูฅ. ุฅู…ุงู…ุงู‹ ุนู„ู‰ ุชุฃูˆูŠู„ูู‡ ุบูŠุฑู ุฌุงุฆูุฑู
ูŠูู‚ุงุชู„ ุจูŽุนุฏูŠ ู„ุง ูŠูŽุตูู„ู‘ ูˆูŠูŽู‡ู’ู„ูŽุนู

26. He said to them, โ€œNo, no! But he is my brother,
And the patcher of my sandal, so recognize the mender.โ€

ูขูฆ. ูู‚ุงู„ ุฃุจูˆ ุจูƒุฑู ุฃู†ุง ู‡ูˆ ู‚ุงู„ูŽ ู„ุง
ูู‚ุงู„ ุฃุจูˆ ุญูุตู ุฃู†ุง ู‡ูˆ ูุงุณู’ููŽุนู

27. In the bird Umm Ayman brought, a lesson
For those pleased and content with the truth.

ูขูง. ูู‚ุงู„ ู„ู‡ู… ู„ุง ู„ุง ูˆู„ูƒู†ู‘ู‡ ุฃุฎูŠ
ูˆุฎุงุตูู ู†ูŽุนู„ูŠ ูุงุนุฑูููˆู‡ู ุงู„ู…ูุฑูŽู‚ู‘ูุนู

28. He said, โ€œMy God, give to Your servant what You love,
And God's love is highest and most noble.โ€

ูขูจ. ูˆููŠ ุทุงุฆุฑู ุฌุงุกุช ุจู‡ ุฃู… ุฃูŠู…ู†ู
ุจูŠุงู†ูŒ ู„ู…ู† ุจุงู„ุญู‚ู‘ู ูŠูŽุฑุถู‰ ูˆูŠูŽู‚ู’ู†ูŽุนู

29. So that he may eat this with me and attain it.
So Ali came, though some tried to prevent him.

ูขูฉ. ูู‚ุงู„ ุฅู„ู‡ูŠ ุขุชู ุนุจุฏูŽูƒ ุจุงู„ุฐูŠ
ุชูุญุจู‘ ูˆุญุจู‘ู ุงู„ู„ู‡ู ุฃุนู„ู‰ ูˆุฃูŽุฑููŽุนู

30. And on the Day of the Garden there was a lesson
In the words of the Messenger, as his eyes teared up,

ูฃู . ู„ูŠุฃูƒู„ูŽ ู…ู† ู‡ุฐุง ู…ุนูŠ ูˆูŠู†ุงู„ูŽู‡
ูุฌุงุกูŽ ุนู„ูŠู‘ูŒ ู…ู† ูŠูŽุตูุฏู‘ู ูˆูŠูŽู…ู†ูŽุนู

31. He said, โ€œFor what do you cry?โ€ He said, โ€œFrom
The resentments of people, the worst of which I fear

ูฃูก. ูˆู‚ุฏ ูƒุงู† ููŠ ูŠูˆู… ุงู„ุญุฏุงุฆู‚ู ุนุจุฑุฉูŒ
ูˆู‚ูˆู„ู ุฑุณูˆู„ู ุงู„ู„ู‡ ูˆุงู„ุนูŠู†ู ุชูŽุฏู…ูุนู

32. Will manifest against you after my death.
What should be done, when God guides in that?โ€

ูฃูข. ูู‚ุงู„ ุนู„ูŠู‘ ู…ู…ู‘ ุชูŽุจูƒูŠ ูู‚ุงู„ ู…ูู†
ุถุบุงุฆู†ูŽ ู‚ูˆู…ู ุดูŽุฑู‘ูู‡ู… ุฃุชูˆู‚ู‘ุนู

33. And on the day the Prophet Muhammad privately conversed with him,
Confiding to him what he willed, disclosing secrets,

ูฃูฃ. ุนู„ูƒูŽ ูˆู‚ุฏ ูŠูุจุฏูˆู†ู‡ุง ุจุนุฏ ู…ููŠุชุชูŠ
ูู…ุงุฐุง ู‡ูุฏูŠุชูŽ ุงู„ู„ู‡ู ููŠ ุฐุงูƒ ูŠูุตู†ูŽุนู

34. They said, โ€œHe prolonged his private talk with his cousin,
His confidential conversation is betrayal and leads to ruin.โ€

ูฃูค. ูˆููŠ ูŠูˆู…ู ู†ุงุฌุงู‡ ุงู„ู†ุจูŠู‘ู ู…ุญู…ุฏูŒ
ูŠูุณู‘ูุฑ ุฅู„ูŠู‡ ู…ุง ูŠูุฑูŠุฏ ูˆูŠูุทู’ู„ูุนู

35. He said to them, โ€œThis morning I did not draw him close,
Rather God conferred with him.โ€ But they did not refrain.

ูฃูฅ. ูู‚ุงู„ ุฃุทุงู„ ุงู„ูŠูˆู… ู†ูŽุฌูˆู‰ ุงุจู† ุนู…ู‘ู‡
ู…ู†ุงุฌุงุชูู‡ ุจุบูŠู‘ูŒ ูˆู„ู„ุจุบูŠู ู…ูŽุตุฑุน

36. He saw a stray coin, ceaselessly
Gesturing with it in his palm, calling out loudly,

ูฃูฆ. ูู‚ุงู„ ู„ู‡ู… ู„ุณุช ุงู„ุบุฏุงุฉ ุงู†ุชุฌูŠุชู‡
ุจู„ ุงู„ู„ู‡ ู†ุงุฌุงู‡ ูู„ู… ูŠุชูˆุฑุนูˆุง

37. As night's darkness overwhelmed,
And market folk prepared to disperse

ูฃูง. ูุฃุจุตุฑ ุฏูŠู†ุงุฑุงู‹ ุทูŽุฑูŠุญุงู‹ ูู„ู… ูŠุฒู„
ู…ูุดูŠุฑุงู‹ ุจู‡ ูƒูŽูุงู‹ ูŠูู†ุงุฏูŠ ูˆูŠูุณู…ูุนู

38. To a kind-handed, blessed seller
From whom good was anticipated and good is pursued.

ูฃูจ. ูู…ุงู„ ุจู‡ ูˆุงู„ู„ูŠู„ู ูŠูŽุบุดู‰ ุณูˆุงุฏูู‡
ูˆู‚ุฏ ู‡ู…ู‘ูŽ ุฃูŽู‡ู„ ุงู„ุณู‘ููˆู‚ู ุฃู† ูŠุชุตุฏู‘ูŽุนูˆุง

39. He said, โ€œBuy some food with this.โ€ So he sold it to him.
โ€œThe coin is yoursโ€ he said, โ€œand all love in its entirety.โ€

ูฃูฉ. ุฅู„ู‰ ุจูŠู‘ูุนู ุณูŽู…ุญู ุงู„ูŠุฏูŠู†ู ู…ุจุงุฑูƒู
ุชูˆุณู‘ู… ููŠู‡ ุงู„ุฎูŠุฑูŽ ูˆุงู„ุฎูŠุฑู ูŠูุชู’ุจูŽุนู

40. That coin's gold was not heated
Nor was that food from what was grown in the land.

ูคู . ูู‚ุงู„ ู„ู‡ ุจูุนู†ูŠ ุทุนุงู…ุงู‹ ูุจุงุนูŽู‡ู
ูู‚ุงู„ ู„ูƒ ุงู„ุฏูŠู†ุงุฑู ูˆุงู„ุญูŽุจู‘ู ุฃุฌู…ูŽุนู

41. Gabriel made a pact with him, and the guest was Ahmad.
Thus goodness and righteousness attained their utmost.

ูคูก. ูู„ุง ุฐู„ูƒ ุงู„ุฏูŠู†ุงุฑู ุฃูุญู…ูŠูŽ ุชูุจุฑู‡
ูˆู„ุง ุงู„ุญูŽุจ ู…ู…ู‘ุง ูƒุงู† ููŠ ุงู„ุฃุฑุถู ูŠูุฒุฑูŽุนู

42. And on the eve when the people of Najran came
To him, performing the Hajj to al-Masih, and acted insolently,

ูคูข. ูุจุงูŠุนู‡ ุฌุจุฑูŠู„ู ูˆุงู„ุถูŠูู ุฃุญู…ุฏูŒ
ูุซู…ู‘ูŽ ุชู†ุงู‡ู‰ ุงู„ุฎูŠุฑ ูˆุงู„ุจุฑู‘ ุฃุฌู…ุน

43. Rejecting his words as disbelief
After hearing what he said about him, how amazing!

ูคูฃ. ูˆููŠ ุฃู‡ู„ู ู†ุฌุฑุงู†ู ุนุดูŠูŽุฉ ุฃู‚ุจู„ูˆุง
ุฅู„ูŠู‡ ูˆุญูŽุฌู‘ููˆุง ุจุงู„ู…ุณูŠุญู ูุฃุจุฏูŽุนูˆุง

44. He said, โ€œCome, let us invoke our sons together,
And your sons, then our women.โ€ So they gathered.

ูคูค. ูˆุฑุฏู‘ููˆุง ุนู„ูŠู‡ ุงู„ู‚ูˆู„ูŽ ูƒููุฑุงู‹
ูˆู‚ุฏ ุณู…ูุนูˆุง ู…ุง ู‚ุงู„ ููŠู‡ ูˆุฃุฑูˆุนูˆุง

45. โ€œAnd ourselves and your own selves together,
To bring us, in lineage, together.โ€

ูคูฅ. ูู‚ุงู„ ุชุนุงู„ูˆุง ู†ูŽุฏุนู ุฃุจู†ุงุกูŽู†ุง ู…ุนุงู‹
ูˆุงุจู†ุงุกูŽูƒู… ุซูู…ู‘ ุงู„ู†ุณุงุกูŽ ูุฃุฌู…ูŽุนูˆุง

46. They said, โ€œYes.โ€ โ€œThen gather your monks on the morrow,
Though there is among the people spite and haste.โ€

ูคูฆ. ูˆุฃู†ูุณูŽู†ุง ู†ุฏุนูˆ ูˆุฃู†ูุณูŽูƒู… ู…ุนุงู‹
ู„ูŠุฌู…ุนูŽู†ุง ููŠู‡ ู…ู† ุงู„ุฃุตู„ูŽ ู…ูŽุฌู’ู…ูŽุนู

47. They came, as did al-Mustafa and the son of his uncle,
And Fatima and the two grandsons, to implore

ูคูง. ูู‚ุงู„ูˆุง ู†ุนู… ูุงุฌู…ุน ู†ูุจุงู‡ูู„ู’ูƒูŽ ุจููƒุฑุฉู‹
ูˆู„ู„ู‚ูˆู…ู ููŠู‡ ุดูุฑู‘ุฉ ูˆุชุณุฑู‘ูุนู

48. God at the set time between them.
When they saw them, they recoiled and trembled.

ูคูจ. ูุฌุงุคูˆุง ูˆุฌุงุก ุงู„ู…ุตุทูู‰ ูˆุงุจู†ู ุนู…ู‘ู‡
ูˆูุงุทู…ู ูˆุงู„ุณูุจุทุงู†ู ูƒูŠ ูŠูŽุชุถุฑู‘ุนูˆุง

49. He said to him, โ€œSlow down, O Buraydah! Do not
Insult Ali, or in spite of me you will be pursued.โ€

ูู„ู…ู‘ุง ุฑูŽุฃูŽูˆู’ู‡ู… ุฃุญุฌู…ูˆุง ูˆุชูŽุถุนุถุนูˆุง

50. โ€œGrant me favor, O Buraydah! He has never ceased
To be with truth and me completely imbued.โ€

ูฅู . ูู‚ุงู„ ู„ู‡ ู…ู‡ ูŠุง ุจูุฑูŠุฏุฉู ู„ุง ุชูŽู‚ู„
ูุฅู† ุจุฑุบู…ูŠ ููŠ ุนู„ูŠู‘ู ุชูŽุชูŽุจู‘ูุนู

51. โ€œAfter me, your master is Ali, be certain,
And expect his confrontations after this confrontation to ensue.โ€

ูฅูก. ูู…ู†ู‘ููŠ ุนู„ูŠู‘ูŽ ูŠุง ุจูุฑูŠุฏุฉู ู„ู… ูŠูŽุฒู„
ูˆุฅู†ู‘ูŠ ูƒุฐุง ู…ู†ู‡ ุนู„ู‰ ุงู„ุญู‚ู‘ู ู†ูุทู’ุจูŽุนู

52. With hasty repentance he failed. Indeed,
He insulted Ali maliciously and was decked in armor.

ูˆู‚ุงุฆูุนูŽู‡ู ุจุนุฏ ุงู„ูˆู‚ูŠุนุฉู ุชูุณุฑูุนู

ูฅูฃ. ุจุชูˆุจุชู‡ ู…ุณุชุนุฌู„ุงู‹ ุฎุงุจูŽ ุฅู†ู‘ู‡
ุจูุณุจู‘ู ุนู„ูŠ ููŠ ู„ูŽุธู‰ู‹ ูŠูŽุชูŽุฏุฑู‘ูŽุนู
