1. So he went to draw water and filled
His cup, Abu Hassan carried it

2. He brought it close and when he finished
His prayer, said "Come near and tell me

3. Where is this from?" So he told his story
To him, sighing with deep sorrow

4. Then Ahmad embraced him to his breast
Oh you who has a sheltering breast

5. Then he said this to the maiden Fatima
He preferred her once, and prefers me

6. And here is this, for you are the first
To honor me, the Exalted, and esteem me
