1. Show me any clear proof
That you give preference to me

2. After the orator stood up announcing
On the day of Khumm before the gathering

3. Ahmad the righteous called loudly
With words from him uncontrived

4. He said that Allah had informed me
In the divine revelation revealed

5. That He perfected the upright religion
Through Ali after it was incomplete

6. He is my sword, tongue and hand
My helper forever without cessation

7. He is my shield, elite and the one
Whose love is the best deed on Resurrection

8. His light is my light and my light his
Connected to me never separated

9. He represents me among you
Woe to those who break the covenant of succession

10. His word is my word so whoever
Obeys him, should follow and submit

11. Indeed your master after me when
My death comes and my days are done

12. Is my cousin, executor and brother
And my confidante in the first band

13. He is the gateway to my knowledge so drink
The water of patience from his cup

14. Turn to him and take council amongst yourselves
Regarding him in perplexing matters
