1. I saw your coffin and the two grave diggers
Do not be surprised, for in the coffin lies Muhammad

2. The angels of heaven lifted it up, thinking
That heaven needs an imam to be buried

3. It descended in Wadi Al-Ghouri, in soil
For you, in its pebbles, there is a shrine to be worshipped

4. In a sanctuary, his family wailed
Grieving for you, and every house is a sanctuary

5. To your pure dust, oh God, how many
Angels bowed and prostrated in prayer

6. It contained established knowledge and wisdom
And light and a guiding moon, in it lies serenity

7. It summoned the stars of virtues and contained
A sea of merits, overflowing and boiling

8. Wondrous is it, containing your achievements
Beyond counting, even by grains of sand

9. Oh you who parted from us, leaving behind
In every monotheist's heart, embers that burn

10. Never dying out, no fire dims, and no grief
From us fades, and no eyes dry out from crying

11. With ribs gashed, dimmed sight
A blazing sorrow, and a life of misery

12. With ribs scorched by the flames of agony
And a grief that befell and shall last forever

13. Who will care for the weak in their religion
Who will provide for the widows after you

14. Who will guide to righteousness, its path now obscured
So nations attacked and heroes rose to defend

15. Who will care for the worshippers, who lost guidance
In religion and life, while you were the guide

16. Who will be the father or caretaker of orphans
Who will aid or bring joy to the destitute

17. Who will save the people from calamities
Who will help the distressed in adversities

18. Who will support and aid the kingdoms
While you were their blessed, most fortunate star

19. Who will stand guard over Muslim frontiers
While you were their fortress and stronghold

20. Who will gather the scattered teachings
Of the Sharia, when death took you away

21. Who will revive the mosques you frequented
Praying in their nights with devotion

22. I acknowledged your superior merits that shone
And the sword now sheathed after battle

23. You strolled in the vastness of heavens, though we thought
Prison awaits you, with thunderbolts crashing

24. What can I say to comfort your brethren
When wisdom's peak and guiding light is gone

25. Say, O father of Al-Mahdi, do not grieve, for what
Lives, however long, will perish one day

26. He knows grief's outcome in both creations
Will end in praise for consequences wrought

27. In His might, solace for Muhammad's family
Without his law, mankind is lost in the dark

28. He is the star guiding them, had it not
Shone upon them, they never saw the light

29. Majesty covered him in its splendor
While foreheads bow to his traits and manners

30. O House of Ja'far, you are the sea from which
Knowledge flows to the world, an endless font

31. You are the Sacred House, our refuge therein
Where pursuit of goals succeeds without fail

32. To you belong the sublime efforts and praise
Where tongues of eulogy melodiously sing

33. In your hands lie our necks in submission
As we all are to you utterly obedient

34. You established Islam, and by you perished
The misguided faiths of Christians and Jews

35. If I claim for you less than the highest place
Under Saturn, then pens of heavens will testify

36. None of your newborns starts life undeserving
Of allegiance to the faith, as soon as born

37. The winds carry tidings of your glories
And accounts of your merits, verified and confirmed

38. If one master among you is gone from us
Another master rises to lead the nation

39. A descendant of each virtue, hero of every
Decree, obeyed ruler, and stalwart champion

40. An upright branch, learned sage, paradise
Worthy of propagating the Shariah, a master

41. With wisdom in speech, supporter with reason
Guided by revelation in scriptural matters

42. Oh you who, in the company I delighted in
Are now alone in the grave, just as alone

43. How I stand by your tomb, calling out
If only the dead could hear the wailer's song

44. I mourn you, whose praise I cannot encompass
The endless ocean I struggle to cross

45. In a sigh, my ribs lament a sorrow
Melting away, now rising smoke and mist

46. Or a heartache pouring tears like rain
From my wounded eyes, flashing and sparking

47. From me to you, ongoing greetings ascend
As the angels continue to lift them to the sky
