1. O you who seek to be devout
Be diligent before you are called devout

2. Then turn away from every tendency
That leads to your own reflection

3. And inform your nature with abstinence
From your desires and magnify your devotion

4. Scrutinize your traits by separating
Yourself from your hopes or despair

5. And choose a skilled advisor
To show you your type of compatriots

6. And the result of judgments is
Not to rule according to your standards

7. But trust those who know
The devout and acts of devotion

8. And submit to Him forever and hold on
To the threads of distinction

9. Make a general confession
Of the how and why with caution

10. And look at the inclination that
Strips you because of your confusion

11. Is it a natural inclination
That leads you to your theft

12. Or is it intimidation and discouragement
That interfered with your senses

13. Or a spiritual call
So look at the basis of your foundation

14. And see for what purpose
The fire of your inspiration was lit

15. And plead to know which affection
Is the most fitting drink of your cup

16. Before you are detained in wishing
For here is the chain of your detention

17. And if God shows you truthfully
That He wants you to be devout

18. Then carry your cross and follow
Jesus and abandon all your people

19. And decide your will that
Ruins you and submit it to your Superior

20. And know that you are leaving
Since there is no way to find you

21. For death has bared
Its fangs and insisted on devouring you

22. Forcefully even if shields
Are the fences of your cell or church

23. And plead in your night calling out
And get up ardently from your sleep

24. My Master take me by the hand
O You whose grace is holder of all people

25. And bestow on me a good ending
O refuge of Your devotees
