1. The veils were lowered over the sun of guidance,
And the radiance of dawn enveloped it in mystery.

2. The eye of truth has been blinded by ignorance,
So the seers have recoiled from beholding it.

3. From every ignorant, spiteful bigot
Whose heart has no substance to evil's onslaught.

4. Changing with every nation, ever shifty,
Like the phases of moon that constantly swap.

5. By God, I'm confounded, led to perdition,
By these endless transformations and traits!

6. He approaches and recoils from his guidance-
His wont is to come and go at all times.

7. Like an ailing eyelid, he has no repose.
Never still, never fixed, never at peace.

8. He claims, "I'm a son of the Church, I'm a believer!"
Yet makes lawful what even pagans forbade.

9. Gently coddling her enemies, sympathetic,
As a she-camel dotes upon her young calf.

10. Seeking with resolute will to offer injustice,
His aspirations are vicious but very weak.

11. His ideal kingdom- the pleasures of women!
His religion- the worship of the golden coin!

12. Boasting of his origins, feeling so proud,
Though his roots are but pottery and clay.

13. Misled by the people of misguidance, emboldened,
Alas, bravado in him signifies ruin.

14. Facing misguidance, never turning back,
From guidance he always recoils and retreats.

15. Neither Scripture's warnings nor its laws
Have deterred him, neither censure nor alarm.

16. When the gazelle at dawn cannot guide him,
Will the wings of night owl enlighten him?

17. Be not surprised by a poet of tainted morals,
Whose inner traits have aroused these verses.

18. They wanted to hide the truth in their darknesses-
Can light be concealed in the darkness?

19. The noble-minded see it as scandalous folly
If a mule pretends pace with purebred steeds.

20. If the rat of sewages claims being grand,
We have a racetrack to verify the claims.

21. What calamity- souls in the desert
Who harbor arrogance though still so young!

22. Who gained high office and lofty ranks
While more deserving of sword and butchery.

23. Some heads in this world have been wrongly crowned
Though worthy of only a wrap and briefs.

24. Some people adorned themselves with silk,
Yet rags and tatters suit their characters.

25. Some faces hid behind their bushy beards,
Though a muzzle and veil are better for them.

26. The raiment of piety is the best of clothes-
Awaken, O you who take sins as your banners!

27. Shameful sins are their jewelry always,
Though they glitter with silver and gold.

28. What a marvel- a tribe whose leader is but a lad,
Unfit to be counseled, unworthy to lead!

29. Gifts and offerings are brought to him,
He takes the tithes though he's a pilferer.

30. They're like ewes who yield no fine wool,
Mostly diseased, though a tenth seem pure.

31. A plastered tomb- looks pristine outside,
But inside is ruin and crumbling decay.

32. The eyes of a land- though abundant its springs,
No water to drink, only mirage to see.

33. Clouds on the horizon, continuously goaded
By gusts of wind, yet they have no rain.

34. Evildoers, villains, rogues and rebels,
Infidels, traitors, plotters and frauds.

35. Who turn their inner light into darkness,
And make the sweetness in them become bitter.

36. Gripping the truth wrongfully in the gloom
Of silent complicity, though loud-tongued.

37. When night fell, to them virtue was excess,
Honesty was lying and left was right.

38. They supported the Magian faith by claiming
That their fire is the light of truth and faith.

39. These are the Sabians whose only god
Is fire, smoke and ashes- and nothing more.

40. The blind of insight- what sight have they,
When insights, not eyes, give man vision?

41. Like docile lambs they were brought to you,
Though for them you are an impregnable wall.

42. They are but fools, reckless and arrogant,
Treacherous, egotistic and cunning.

43. Misguidance was destined for them, for their imam
Is the sorcerer, that great deceiver.

44. Walking in the footsteps of misguidance, for
With them, papyrus reveals all secrets.

45. They enslaved the children through oppression, then
Their broker purchased them while they were free.

46. They wreaked havoc as rulers of the land,
And tyrannized over the commoners.

47. Such are the fruits, and a tree is known
By the fruits it bears, as is well-known.

48. They have souls inclined to cause harm,
Yet barren of doing any good.

49. So they're like a threshing sledge, yielding
Only plunder, then burdens and woes.

50. Their distinguishing trait is oppressing kin,
And their habit- causing pain, woe and harm.

51. They pounced upon the Prophet's vicar like wolves,
Baring fangs and claws against him.

52. Surely they will fall into the trap
They plotted- had they fled it would tear.

53. They will be squeezed by terrible torment,
Even if for them the skies were raised high.

54. They will be neighbors of lava, even if
For them lofty peaks had been upreared.

55. Each will be seen, disgraced, by the Lord,
Had over galaxies a house been built.

56. Whether willingly or not, man will be herded,
Even if the Giant and Tyrant defend him.

57. Life's field is the arena of existence,
Wherein ages race since beginning of time.

58. Their shamefulness almost killed them,
And if they live, disgrace clings to them.

59. Had the radiant sun lived among them,
Its brilliance would dim to darkness and gloom.

60. Had the Pleiades dwelled with them a while,
Their beauty would veil in murk and fog.

61. Woe to them! What will be their state
When facing the Throne with their crimes?

62. One day their Lord will come smiling,
With armies of angels filling the skies.

63. Before Him, maidens radiant like moons,
Behind, rows of the righteous and elite.

64. Flanked by hordes of angels, squadrons
Numberless, thronging about His seat.

65. One day the moon will bleed into red,
The sun will darken, the light be extinguished.

66. The planets and stars will quit revolving,
And the wanderers will come to a rest.

67. One day God will call out to His enemies-
Away with you all, you villainous crew!

68. To the place of weeping, lament and regrets,
And throngs of insects, germs and filth.

69. Seek refuge in the sanctuary of Cain,
The arch-criminal and pioneer of deceit.

70. And in Hell with Haman, Pharaoh and hosts
Of parties like you, whose signs we see.

71. Enter it, despaired, for your trademark
Is persistence in harm and in deceit.

72. Blindly wander its darkness everlasting,
No glimmer of light, without respite.

73. Settle into it- doomed to eternity,
No sorrowful tear shall dry in it.

74. You disobeyed the deputy of divine law
To whom the nations incline obediently.

75. You also denied his successor, since
That denial itself turned him unknown.

76. The Church's chief, the foremost Head,
Paragon of virtue, the Chosen Guide.

77. Best of nations, universal imam,
Sublime priest, above whom all clerics.

78. Bearer of keys, whose symbols
Unravel judgments beyond any siege.

79. His caliphate rose in Rome, at whose hands
For his sake the ages have bowed.

80. His testimony was completed through it,
So by his martyrdom its perils were sealed.

81. Guard, O Messenger, a people steadfast
In obedience to you, O great warrior.

82. Turn the arrows of your enemies back to their hearts,
Until they return, no more confusion in them.

83. For they have provoked, with hidden treachery,
Battle whose sparks set the horizons aflame.

84. Peace be upon you, for all time
As the morning breeze blows and birds sing their tunes.

85. And upon your church, firmly defending
The faith whose being the ages have not undone.

86. And on Mary the Maiden, our pride,
As long as flowers breathe scent at dawn.
