1. O Peter the priest, the judgment against you is complete
As God has decreed, with no way to reverse what was ruled

2. You were killed unjustly, O shepherd of the oppressed
While remorse and misery is for the oppressor who wronged

3. They insulted you as unbelievers, yet you did not lose faith
Holding on to the trust with steadfast belief

4. If life with virtue is a war on earth
You have attained peace in the heavens sublime

5. If you tasted the bitter stab of pain
You have won the sweet refuge where agony is no more

6. Surely the innocent have no blame, even if unbelievers
Spilled pure blood - the criminals bear the guilt

7. They are the tyrants, the wicked faithless ones
Among them no man of honor who respects sacred bonds

8. You acted well towards them despite how they treated you
And they repaid you with evil, as they now regret

9. God reward you for the magnanimity of your soul
The sword did not daunt you, but you kissed its blade

10. You did not betray your covenant with God
Deeming this existence null, and nothingness supreme

11. They bared the scrolls, and in its pages
Were clear decrees of death, a firm command

12. He is the martyr whose testimony was completed
By keeping his faith until he shed his blood

13. They cast him aside broken, so his bones
Were pecked by ravens and carrion feeders

14. They stripped him bare, no shroud for him
Except the frost that congealed upon his body
