1. Be thankful in your affliction without complaining
So you may see God helping you in your trial

2. Revenge may seem necessary but
It would be best now clearly to refrain

3. The pains of our time cannot compare
To that glory when in us He will reign

4. Job though righteous and devout
Was tested by God time and again

5. And Jesus the beloved, though divine
Accepted the cross and scorn of men

6. And so with what He suffered as Lord
He can give strength to the tried and pained
