1. O my Protector from afflictions that strike suddenly
And my Refuge from the occurrences of misfortunes

2. Realize, realize the state of the wrongdoer gently
And help, help O most perfect of traits

3. Purify me, my Lord, from my hidden sins
And my faults, O Knower of secrets

4. You are One, so no intercessor can be seen for You
O King, to whom servants are subjects

5. And All-Encompassing, so nothing escapes You
And All-Knowing of what hearts conceal

6. O Near One, do not neglect me when I call
Except You, the Distant One, at times of affliction

7. Eternal, Everlasting, Never-ending
As long as You remain Living

8. What gifts, favors, and bounties
From You, O Most Generous in Giving

9. Your overflowing, all-encompassing generosity has shown us
You encompass all people like the horizon

10. Now accept my humility and brokenness
For the brokenness of hearts is the best offering

11. And guide me to good, for I am devoted to You
The best that You seek when guiding

12. I have a sigh that has ignited my innermost being
Its fire has straightened my bending ribs

13. My sins have bound me in shackles
I complain of them, but do complaints benefit?

14. Life passed by in play, and old age approached quickly
Ever since gray hair warned of death

15. And the nights of youth flew by swiftly
Like an arrow released by a skilled archer

16. What can be my trickery on the Day of Reckoning when
The pretenders stand naked?

17. On a day when Allah examines
The evil hidden in the corners of hearts

18. And the secrets and hidden things become
Apparent, though they were hidden before

19. If my misdeeds exceeded every burden
Of evil and surpassed immense sins

20. And my major sins multiplied beyond every arrogance
And ascended above the high places

21. I have firm hope in a God
Whose pardon encompasses all sins

22. His majesty is lofty yet His veil is lowered
From the eyes that try to perceive intentions

23. Leave off, leave off being concerned with times
That are declining and afflictions

24. And seek the Mother of the God and her contentment
For it is success in all matters

25. The elect of Allah since early times
She was granted the finest, most radiant gifts

26. She surpassed all glory
And excelled over all humans

27. She ascended above the heavens' highest levels
With the Highest, Glory, and beauty of character

28. Mother of a Lord who perfected the Law
And truth of principles beautifies judgments

29. And a religion calls from the pulpits
Which destroyed disbelief from its foundations

30. O Redeemer of mankind, while they were
Prisoners of the justice of Allah

31. With a Virgin who reached the highest station
To her sacredness the mounts are moved

32. Favor me specially from Your favors, my God
For they are the remaining remnants

33. Pardon my slip due to Your bounty and forgive
Sins whose stories are long

34. And protect me from my ambitions and lighten
The stumbling block of arrogance, the worst calamity

35. And protect me from an affliction that has struck me suddenly
