1. I see in the hand of time a bare bone
And its tears flowing on that bone

2. So this deed amazed me, for it is
The deed of a savage beast, devoid of gentleness

3. So I said, "Do you cry for the sin of being a killer?
Why do you let your tears flow copiously on the bone?"

4. He replied, "You have missed the mark with your arrow and did not hit,
Oh you of delusion, your ignorance is far from knowledge,

5. By your life, I do not grieve for the dead, but
For the bone, as no flesh remains for me,

6. Whatever flesh was on it, I devoured,
And nothing remains for me to covet after that,

7. So I reflected upon the sinner and his fate,
Who cries - but not for the sin and crime,

8. But for a life now past, that will not return,
For him to enjoy the pleasures of the body,

9. So O futile tears at death,
Time has passed, so do not blame,

10. For from a single teardrop came hellfire
And fulfilled the punishment for sin, in full,

11. While just now you cry over sin
And prefer the delights of the soul over the disgrace of sin."
