1. The glorious refuge, the honored place
The sheltering tree, the stately dwelling

2. The spring of virtue, flowing sweetly
To all who thirst for his grace bounteous

3. The lofty pole where all revolve
The signs of guidance without cease

4. His essence singular, endowed
With peerless beauty, free from flaws

5. None can assail with empty words
But must retreat, despite their gall

6. To judge with truth, for justice sake
No fee or gain his goal at all

7. The right he weighs for all to see
And so the unjust bow down ashamed

8. All knowledge his, none left to seek
Ancestry and deeds both famed

9. His fame like musk, a scent so pure
Great his munificence, his honor safe

10. From reason's dross he's purified
His spirit so refined, so safe

11. No innovation this, but given
By his Lord beneficent, sublime

12. The Lord of Grace gave to his slave
This subtle spirit to refine

13. If Grace's slave shows gentleness
It is his Lord's traits we perceive

14. His coin of virtue purely minted
From base alloy he took his leave

15. Our elixir he, for which we longed
Since first his ways so well esteemed

16. His sun shone out, his years increased
All dark eclipses he redeemed

17. His light eclipsed defects, he rose
Beyond disgrace of faults obscured

18. If he seems veiled, it is like the cheek
At times concealed, at times demurred

19. When free of veils, the deserving don
A radiant cloak, their grace assured

20. His nature balanced as the spring
After the autumn leaves conferred

21. My heart was rapt, I lingered by
Halted in place, all traveling spurred

22. The passionate delayed so long
No guest am I, no call deferred

23. Her circumstances he tends at night
His dwelling place well known, assured

24. The goal seems far, but closer than
The ripening fruits to be incurred

25. How many wise minds were perplexed
How many clever left obscured!

26. I wasted life on "maybe" and "perhaps"
Procrastinating, hopes deferred

27. This poor man said, I've become rich
Raised up above all, nothing slurred

28. With joy and bliss my heart she filled
When seen - as food fills famished curd

29. Her text is clear, not garbled speech
No deviations to be blurred

30. My sighs and tears as passions rise
Flow without cease, are undeterred

31. I persevere though weary grown
No task too great to be incurred

32. How can I seek, when I'm fulfilled
With but a sip and bite of curd?

33. My mansion is a humble hut
My square plot is where I'm interred

34. My coat and shirt are simple wool
Hand woven threads, no silk conferred

35. Reproach me not for loving whom
No blame from me will be incurred

36. The knot is in his hand, as is release
Why would I risk what can't be cured?

37. My soul flew to him, in his safety
From fears released, no more demurred

38. Grace inclined us, he is gracious
Turned to us - grace to grace conferred

39. If you dwell in his company
You dwell in shelter, leaves wind-stirred

40. An honored guest of Grace's slave
To bounty comes, is well preferred

41. O genius! What exemplary traits!
What passions in his lovers spurred!

42. Your merits, not your faults, are known
No need to catalogue each word

43. I am content with all you are
So judge as your sound mind concurred

44. Live long, excel, wear victory's cloak
Broidered with threads skillfully interred

45. Health, glory, gravity be yours
By your Lord beneficent conferred
