1. I have no rest in which I can relax
In my life except Jesus Christ

2. He is my rest, my spirit and my relief
And my consolation, then my soothing comforter

3. My honor in my disgrace and my consolation
In my affliction, and I do not deviate from Him

4. For my heart there is delight and for my mind
At my sorrow and hardship, amusement

5. Can any tranquility other than Him be seen
My God who other than You gives comfort

6. You are all mine and You are all for all
You are my spirit, rather You are the spirit of the spirit

7. You are the spirit of existence, indeed to You creation
Calls glorifying and shouting

8. Everything in the world of senses and mind
Is a tongue praising You loudly

9. I have no solace without You ever, no
And none other than You dispels my distress

10. You have draped Yourself from Your heavens until
Your abundant favor has immersed people

11. And You have opened hearts to miracles
To which sound minds have sincerely yielded

12. You have stood for people as a guide and healer
So the heart of Adam, wounded, was healed

13. You have commanded the elements absolutely
The raging sea and the winds calmed

14. The image of the Father and the co-equal hypostasis
The substance of the essence and the lucid ray

15. So He is with the body like earthly humans
And He is a Lord who cannot be defined

16. On earth walking, and on the Throne divine
A God to Whom praise is guided

17. His state has perplexed minds so they faltered
He disappears from their comprehension and glimpses

18. As He is the ignorance, the darkness, the veil
And the shadow to them of lucidity

19. I thank God I have known the One I believed
And the truth is evident and explicit

20. My felicity, rather, my happiness is that I
Am a willing slave to His favor I beseech

21. The beginning of my existence He saw before my existence
Not as my constitution has wrongly taught me

22. I have come asking freely
Sustain me, my Master, I am the asker

23. For He knows my need more than my heart
And my secret that I do not confess

24. O You who have mercy on servants, Your hands
Have never ceased to be graceful to people

25. Can I see myself despairing while You are my hope?
Can I see myself apathetic while You are the noble?

26. O Healer of souls, would You neglect me
While I am downtrodden, my heart wounded?

27. I am suffering, unable to move
Fallen from the pain of misfortunes, exhausted

28. My sin has burdened my broken heart but
My hope in You is secure and sound

29. So my heart overflowed and sorrow flooded
And its match, an eye pouring over, wept

30. And in remembering what passed me is sweet
To me, repeating my regrets, I lament

31. My chest is too narrow to contain my state, so neither the chest
Nor the state, its breadth can encompass

32. My conscience tormented, my heart
Debased, and my tear poured out

33. The companion of my misfortune from the arrows of sorrows
His wounds festering and oozing pus

34. Life passed in seizing enjoyments
I rose in their glory and set

35. And desires I spent in disasters
Ruinous, about which lectures are prolonged

36. And compliance to sins willfully
Their immersions and dawns succeeded each other

37. My nature is broken, a recalcitrant beast
Arrogantly rushing to shelters

38. The breaker of the yoke cannot be led, a free
Horse, and ambitions to wrong, aspiring

39. None other than Him can redeem me
So relieve me from it, O Lord, that I may rest
