1. Sorrows have multiplied, they have no end
Troubles have spread, they have no limit

2. Various misfortunes gathered into one misfortune
As if a genus contained its species without differentiation

3. The days have cast me with a painful, heartrending arrow
An afflicting arrow that barely misses its target

4. And it's possible that the judgement of people may be repealed
But Allah's judgement cannot be undone

5. And nothing can protect a person from the claws of doom
Even if the lions concealed him between their fangs

6. Fate made me drink a cup of unbroken sorrows since my youth
And the death of my youth is a calamity that melts even solid rock

7. Indeed, all difficulties pale in comparison to this misfortune
And all clamor is but whispers next to this tumult

8. Yet I conceal my innermost sorrows while my tears flow uncontrollably
So how can I hide while my secrets are laid bare by them?

9. I float in a sea of endless worries
My patience is the coast, and my tears are its tides

10. Two opposites assail me, so I remain patient
Yet I'm consumed by sorrows that melt my liver

11. My heart tosses and turns in the embers of grief
While my tears flow and stretch across my cheeks

12. And my eyelids are festering wounds that cannot contain their discharge
Or floods of tears that none can withstand

13. It's as if my eyelids are glued to my brows
That's why gloom and sleeplessness have settled upon me

14. My greatest agony is the gloating of envious foes
Whose ambitions against me grow

15. Fate insisted on testing me, so it exhausted
Every trick to torment me

16. I have no savior or liberator
Except the One to whom all matters return for resolution

17. A noble scion, an esteemed and glorified genius
Pride, virtues, honor and glory are his

18. A prince whose commands are obeyed, his principles abided
He leaves no room for opposition in his undertakings

19. A Shihaby of noble origin who rose above the stars
A noble and refined man who has no equal

20. Abu Mulhim, the one hoped for in every great cause
Formidable, revered, with no rival to contest him

21. By your forbearance, O you who are unique among people
By your singular, unified essence

22. You are the purpose of my heart and the object of my hopes
You are my highest expectations and my sole pursuit

23. Spare your protected daughter a glance
And look upon a son who seeks your approval, though he is but your slave

24. If one day you saw the world bidding her farewell
With voices wailing in lament around her

25. While I have tears of blood and blazing sorrows
With a burning liver and fervent passions

26. You would say: O people, have mercy on a bereaved man
Whose beloved's loss has wounded him immensely

27. Whoever lends an ear to my expressions of grief
Will learn from them how tender hearts are torn asunder

28. Never have I seen a rose whose fate was not to wither
Nor a sword whose destiny was not to rust in the dirt

29. Never a full moon that did not disappear into the earth
Nor a sun before being confined to the grave

30. By your honor, even if I spent a night in a home
Inferior to the eternal gardens of Paradise

31. Fate has denied me, so my dwellings are desolate
With empty quarters that cannot be filled

32. But a glance of mercy is enough to mend my brokenness
Fulfilling a promise in a blessed moment

33. Whether you find me in misery, with loss as my fate
Or in joy, with fortune as my destination

34. Take my hand if I raise my fingers to you
With a hopeful heart that seeks you ardently

35. I am one who glories in your eminence
What bliss if, though undeserved, your kindness still reaches me

36. Without you, the wise say a maiden's honor is worthless
If given without orders, that is enough, not riches

37. You are my honor in humiliation, my aid in adversity
My pillar in every affliction, my supporter at all times

38. O you whose overflowing grace has overwhelmed me
Since infancy, when the cradle embraced me

39. You remain eternal, subduing the aggressions of fate
Your command conquers, your rule prevails

40. Your affairs are victorious while your enemies fail
Your heart is joyful while your foes smolder

41. The world has never ceased praising your merit
Musk and ambergris are outshone by the mention of you
