1. If you seek to ascend to lofty heights
Climb the stairs of virtues, for they are the path
١. إذا رُمتَ الصُعودَ إلى عَلاءٍ
فثِب دَرَج الفضائل فَهيَ مَرقى
2. And if you seek to rise without steps
By Allah! You will not ascend
٢. وان رُمتَ الرُقِيَّ بلا مَراقٍ
وأَيمُ اللَهِ إِنَّكَ لَستَ تَرقى
3. And if you want guidance without a guide
Sincere advice - you will go astray, west and east
٣. وان شئتَ الرَشادَ بغيرِ هادٍ
نَصُوحٍ تِهتَ غَرباً ثُمَّ شَرقا
