1. O you who boast of beauty and bodies
Beauty is but a shadow, bodies but dust
١. يا مُزدَهَينَ بحُسِنهم وجُسومِهِم
الحُسنُ ظِلٌّ والجُسومُ تُرابُ
2. The water of life has deceived you in your ignorance
And the waters of this fleeting world are a mirage
٢. قد غَرَّكُم ماءُ الحيوةِ لجهلِكُم
ومياهُ ذي الدُنيا الغَرُورِ سَرابُ
