Or else, it's distress that gets relief soon.

And life is but novelty then it flows.

4. How can I blame fortune when fortune is tricky?
Yet its kindness entices me when it appears.

5. How can I persist patient when I lack means?
The livelihood is unavailable and I'm not distressed.

6. But to be patient is to be humiliated,
And closer to the condition that is rougher.

7. Can a young man bear worries while feeling secure
Strolling at night with companions chanting poems?

8. There is no patience for excessive ambitions,
When hopes can be realized and paths get easier.

9. I refused to ignore madness over ruins,
Except my certainty that hardship will get relief.

10. I plot on the mat as if I were
A captive fearing murder while worries get relief.

11. If I need dreams, sometimes
I need ignorance even more.

12. I have a horse for dreams, reined for dreams,
And a horse for ignorance, saddled for ignorance.

13. Whoever wants to straighten me, I get straightened,
And whoever wants to bend me, I get bent.

14. I did not accept ignorance as a boon companion,
But I accept it when I get distressed.

15. Maybe the expanse becomes too narrow for its people,
And an exit can be found through the teeth.

16. Fatal adversity that one must ride
When there is no path to it but a rugged one.

17. If some people say about it, it is foolishness,
They are right, and humiliation with free men is rougher.
