1. My eyes long for Jerusalem the noble,
When will time allow me to meet her?

6. My Arab soul, come, break its shackles!
Do not leave it in the hands of tyrants.

7. The Zionists have corrupted it,
May the Judge's curse be upon them.

8. They destroyed the mosques, and over the rubble
Crows play and frolic.

9. Our children were oppressed by the police
With hearts burning with fire.

10. Our elders tasted the bitterness of their tyranny,
A tyranny exceeding the beasts' savagery.

11. A land that has become a cage for its people,
While it is spacious and an open plain.

12. It called out for our help, and in a language
Without tongue, asked:

13. Is there a brave man whose protection I can seek?
Is there an Arab horseman among the knights?

14. My city, if your right hand remains
Captive, oppressed, and disgraced,

15. For you I pledge all I own, and I do not care
If I am miserable or death comes upon me.

16. You have a right over me, whenever I am absent
Or my body lies underground.

17. That you remember me kindly, for I was never
Reluctant or hesitant in my loyalty to you.

18. To sacrifice myself for you was my way,
And meeting you for certain is my faith.
