1. Your banner is victorious and your fortune conquering
And your party is fighting your enemies on your behalf

2. Alas, the mother of misfortunes has been bereaved and deceived
By the principles of those whose state and consequences

3. It listens stealthily to their idle talk
And below the sky of the kingdom are shooting stars

4. Good and evil meet against it, a ship
To eradicate it and battalions

5. A drowning man clinging to another drowning like him
And the wave of death upon them accumulating

6. Their greed has plunged them into the abyss of misery
And ignorance has deluded them with misleading lights

7. They obeyed a misguided one unrestrained by law
Nor deterred by the face of right and experience

8. The face of opinion is obscured and the deceived face wandering
Seen present in his matter while absent

9. It called them to their dying so they scrambled
As the kindling is gathered for the fire

10. He defied the advice of time at heart
And turned away from the face of guidance though undesiring

11. He imagined the city of Nasiriya to be his abode
He assails her squares and fights

12. And in the unseen is the support of the party of guidance
And strange victories for the Commander of the Faithful

13. It is the matter of God, none can escape it
Neither seeking refuge nor far from positions

14. None flees from it even if he reaches Al-Suhā
In a star, can one fleeing from God escape?

15. With its victorious supporter, a contested caliphate wandered
Befitting his beauty and befitting him

16. An Imam who has outstanding virtue over people
And a rank above which ranks cannot climb

17. His virtues like stars abundant
In number and light but God those virtues

18. It is the celestial banner on earth its origin
And clouds have crowded it from the sky

19. He has a Qurayshi lineage, sacred
Gifts affirm it with properties

20. You have remained, Commander of the Faithful, and your fortune
Shaking a spear from him and sharpening blades
