1. It was once home to people before us, but they left
And abandoned it, though their traces in it remain

2. By Allah! If I knew the worth of its heir
I would have granted him its ruins and buildings

3. They said grants revived it, but I said to them
No, it was not before the grants came to be

4. Have you not heard Jareer speak of Haneeda
Praising her, seeing her utmost in generosity?

5. And who can match her thousands in gold
Except Haneeda, or other Haneedas?

6. And who can match Qais Ibn Al-Mulawwah in his lance
When Qais Ibn Al-Mulawwah had kingdoms and thrones?

7. And he who hails from the Commander of the Faithful
Many testaments stand to his superior virtue

8. Congratulations to the Imam of Guidance, for justice spreads
Religion is organized, disbelief scattered

9. Your glories exhaust me, beyond what I can attain
Though many attacks by words have assailed them

10. Rulers of verse have tried to confine them
Yet their efforts fell short before them

11. These are the verses of a loyal servant to you
Pure in belief, though verses do not avail

12. The matter is greater in scale and higher
Than what our positions can encompass

13. May you remain, and long last your good fortune
As long as the earth and the seven heavens
