1. Horses like floods
Rushing with zeal and fervor

2. I made the world too small for them
So they raced far and wide

3. Galloping across the earth’s skin
True to their names, barely standing still

4. Their neighing is pure praise
Though people don’t understand their whinnying

5. Praising the king whose days
Are a veil cast over this world

6. His rule encompasses the simple folk
Like a flood overflowing all the lands

7. The Christians are ignorant that he is the king
Who inherits the lands, and their excuse is accepted

8. The ignorant ones, how can I blame them?
I know nature does not change

9. They did not surrender willingly or under duress
And he was to them a dreaded specter from beyond China

10. You subdued their souls, triumphant conqueror
And they came to you, surrendering

11. So you pardoned them, O Capable One, generously
Forgiving them, and the pardon of the Capable is beautiful

12. The lands and people thank the Caliph
He is the guardian of the lands and the people

13. If the two holy cities could speak
They would express thanks beyond measure

14. Yesterday their bells filled the air
And today it is cries of "God is Great"
