1. If I were among the sons of Yahya, never
Would his wealth increase mine, were his father my own father.
١. لَو كُنتُ مِن أَولادِ يَحيى لَما
زادَ وَلَو كانَ أَبوهُ أَبي
2. Nor would his status raise my status,
Nor would his mount become my own mount.
٢. مِن مالِهِ مالي وَمِن جاهِهِ
جاهي وَمِن مَركَبِهِ مَركَبي
