1. Tell the caliph, O son of Muhammad's uncle
Your vizier is tricky, he is easily undone

2. His tongue insults us, trampling on our honor
His sly designs creep into hearts, make mischief there

3. Many who seek from him some favor or appointment
Must bow to his abuse, swallow his bile, unfair
