1. O gentle one, soothing to hearts,
Mourned by both friends and foes,

2. You were the pupil of my eye,
And the iris of my sight.

ููุงูู ุงูุณููุงุฏู
3. You were mourned by the drinkers and the cups,
And by the singers from the taverns to the brothels.

ูู ูุงุฆูุทู ุฅููู ููููุงุฏู
4. O sheikh, neither your eight decades
Nor that white hair after the blackness,
ูค. ุฃูููููุง ุงูุดููุฎู ู
ุง ููููุชูู ุงูุซูู
ุงูููู
ููุฐุงูู ุงูุจููุงุถู ุจูุนุฏู ุงูุณููุงุฏู
5. Kept that spear from reaching you,
And joining you with the tribe of โAad.

ูุฉู ุญูุชูู
ุฃููุญูููุชูู ุจูุงูุฑููุทู ู
ูู ูููู
ู ุนุงุฏู
6. Neither โUwais nor the son of Al โUsayfir remains,
Nor the son of As-Summan among the peers.
ูฆ. ูุง ุนููููุณู ููุจูู ูููุง ุงูุจูู ุงูุนูุตููููุฑู
ูููุง ุงูุจูู ุงูุตูู
ูุงูู ูู ุงูุฃููุฏุงุฏู
7. They gloated when you died though death -
No gloating by enviers is of use therein.

ุงุชูุฉู ุงูุญูุณูุงุฏู
8. May Allah have mercy on him who saw the death of the sheikh,
And came well-prepared with piety - the best provision.
