ورابعُ الكَهْفِ لِكَهْفٍ حَواكْ

Where you lived, despite the tears of the clouds.

٢. وليت نَوْءَ الطَّرْفِ في رَوْضةٍ
أنتَ بها رَغْماً لِنَوْءِ السِّماكِ

3. I would water your tomb, O my wish!
Are tears poured anywhere but there?

٣. أسْقِي بها مَثْواكَ يا مُنْيتِي
هل تُسْكَبُ العَبَراتُ إلا هُناكْ

4. O son of the two sacrifices, you were ransomed
If only all people were sacrificed for you

٤. يا ابْنَ الذبِيحَيْن وقد فُدِّيَا
ليت جميعَ الخلْقِ كانوا فِدَاكْ

5. Amber would not deserve to be burnt
Except when it resembled your soil

٥. فما اسْتحقّ العَنْبَرُ الرّطبُ أن
يُحرَق إلا حين حاكى ثَراكْ

6. If only my enemies' faces
Became shoes while their eyebrows were your ground

٦. ليت وُجوهاً لأعادِيكَ لو
أمْسَتْ نِعالاً حَاجِباها شِرضاكْ

7. Neither clouds nor sea ever told of your generosity
Or won what was in your possession

٧. لم تَحْكِكَ السُّحْبُ ولا البَحْرُ في
جُودٍ ولا فاز بما في لُهاكْ

8. Lightning never flashed, but it
Laughs at the pouring rain that narrated you

٨. فالبَرْقُ لم يَلْمعْ ولكنَّه
يضْحَكُ من وَابِلِ غَيْثٍ حَكاكْ
