While times of misery linger

19. Woe to him who foolishly exposed himself to love
He will melt away and perish in it

20. Ask me, O seeker of passion, and I will tell you of
Its conditions, for I am advanced in it

21. I fell for a beauty the like of which never appeared
Except the full moon went to interpret it

22. Her cheek, when she removed the veil, appeared to us
Like a crescent moon, veiled by tresses

23. I spoke to my eyes with the eyelashes in which

24. My eyes are narcissi or mugs
But my heart is a sword or arrows

25. From her face the light of life brightens my eyes
And the fire of perdition burns my heart

Except my longing for her compelled me

27. A longing that depicts her to my eyes whenever
She is absent, so I delight wherever I cannot attain delight

28. She is the breeze, fragrant wherever she blows, and the eye
Sees her glimpses as she comes forth

29. What have my eyes and heart reaped
That they punish him with great punishment

43. Oh tomorrow, how much you have boiled my blood
On the fire of hope, and for how long will you orphan me?

44. For how long have the disclosures of love surrounded me
While fate assists them with its firm decree

45. I hurried to the garden, devoid of strength
Crying while the mouths of flowers smile

46. I anticipate affliction while my heart observed
