1. O king, none remains for religion but him,
And the pillars of Islam have wavered, so support it firmly,

2. The ill omens of polytheism's division are foreboding in Syria,
So clip its wings completely with the utmost strength.

3. You were given to strengthen, so the enemies spread corruption,
For they are Gog and Magog, against whom a barrier was built.

4. When the lineage of the yellow one laid waste to the sanctified courtyard,
The opening of the mother of cities was equaled, step for step.

5. So by this Aqsa Mosque, your highest aspiration,
Your utmost determination, and your decisive resolve,

6. It is nothing but for you to be determined, and openings have come
Like a torrential flood that has obliterated all landmarks.

7. And if you do not want to strike the Franks with a blow,
Then who can demolish its building and raze it to the ground?

8. Not every time can one seize an opportunity,
Nor does every situation allow what would bring prosperity.

9. And there is no conquest like Jerusalem under a leader’s command,
Nor anything to receive it except Yusuf’s firm resolve.
