1. The night at Rawdah al-Shamaa is a guiding teacher
Till morning, with the spirit of remembrance, we revive it

2. The dwelling of the Son of Mary during his journey
Blessed are its meanings and melodies

3. Its treasures, if the outlets were blocked
Would have flooded over its high banks

4. As if it were the rock thrown by Moses
So fountains sprung forth for the tribes

5. As if it were a pearl for which Yazid
Added a string of dark pearls in succession

6. A spring satisfied with seas against which
It dashes, satisfying the devout who prayed there

7. And the lofty white rock towering high
Above the gazelle’s horn at the start of its rising

8. The grounds below never turned white with age
But were watered, like a maiden’s leg, by its streams

9. It nurtures the heart with untroubled breaths
So grief shall not beset its wanderers

10. When the air is gently scented
In a city, it refines the temperaments of its people

11. Recall the dawn at the highest nobility when the light appears
Intellectually from the horizon of its concealing trees

12. With a wondrous scene that captivates minds
And distracts the soul from its fondest wishes

13. It gazes towards a cool stream flowing in the cold
In my coat of two layers of green silk

14. Breaking the water into crystals and eddies
Like polished silver spikes rising high

15. And wherever you wish, trees extend
Shade over rivers covering those who seek them

16. So every picture delights in its places
And every soul finds bliss in its meadows

17. If it were not for ordained matters and provisions
No resident would leave Damascus
