1. A late night traveler on a tired mount
The remnants of its saliva could not justify me
١. عاسِرَة بِراكِبٍ مَحلُوقِ
وَلَم تُسَوِّغنِى بَقايا الرِّيقِ
2. Coming out of the softly lit mountains
Heading towards the rise of Al-Ayyouq
٢. خارِجَة مِن الجِبالِ الرُّوقِ
عامِدَة لِمَطلَعِ العَيُّوقِ
3. You have no friend in Al-Harrat or Maran or Al-Aqeeq
Except me, the clearly lit road
٣. ما لَكِ بِالحَرَّةِ من صَدِيقِ
وَلا بِمَرَانَ وَلا العَقِيقِ
4. And startled, peeled palms
That carry the howdah of a smitten lover
٤. غَيرِى وَغَيرَ وَضَحِ الطَّرِيقِ
وَراجِفاتٍ بُزَّلٍ وَنُوقِ
5. Whose neck is rubbed raw from the camel litter
That ends its day with dry provisions
٥. يَركَبن نِيرَى لاحِبٍ مَدغُوقِ
ناءى القَرادِيدِ مِنَ البُثُوقِ
6. My heart sighed as it was in a strait
Struck by the flashes of lightning
٦. يُمسِى قَطاهُ يَبِسَ الحُلُوقِ
حَنَّت قَلُوصِى وَهىَ فى مَضِيقِ
7. As if it were on the clearly lit road
A dove between swift companions
٧. وَشاقَها لَوامِعُ البُرُوقِ
كَاَنَّها فى وَضَحِ الطَّرِيقِ
8. It barely escapes the grip of the unsteady hands
Slipping away from those same shaky hands
٨. حَمامَة بَينَ خِفافَى نِيقِ
تَنجُو نَجاءَ الاَخرَجِ المَزعُوقِ
9. Passing beautiful, graceful palm trees
With stems made firm by abundant water
٩. مَألُوقَةً فى خَطرِهان المَألُوقِ
مَرَّت عَلَى جَمائِلٍ وَنُوقِ
10. Rising up in broad and narrow valleys
From the base of the date palm of Al-Maflouq
١٠. شَوازِبٍ مِن شِدَّةِ الوَسيقِ
تَنهَضُ فى مُتَّسِعٍ وَضِيقِ
١١. مِن بَطنِ وادِى نَخلَةَ المَفلُوقِ
