1. And basil gently sways on branches
Its scent makes drinking from cups pleasant
١. وَرَيحانٍ يَميسُ عَلى غُصونٍ
يَطيبُ بِشَمِّهِ شُربُ الكُؤوسِ
2. Like Sudanese wearing silk garments
Yet they have abandoned pillows for heads
٢. كَسودانٍ لَبِسنَ ثِيابَ خَزٍّ
وَقَد تُرِكوا مَكاشيفَ الرُؤوسِ
