1. So the crying birds are not like their nestlings
And the mighty lions are not like foxes
١. فَلَيسَ بُغاثُ الطَيرِ مِثلَ عِتاقِها
وَلَيسَ الأُسودُ الغُلبُ مِثلَ الثَعالِبِ
2. And the deaf sticks are not like the hollow ones in experience
And the seas are not like the clouds in moisture
٢. وَلَيسَ العِصِيُّ الصُمُّ كَالجَوفِ خِبرَةً
وَلَيسَ البُحورُ في النَدى كَالمَذانِبِ
