1. Is it not time for the sinner to feel remorse,
And for the wrongdoer to accept and not rage?

2. Yet the stubborn persist in their deceit,
As if it were but a game they play.

3. After such harmony and pure brotherhood,
Estrangement has kindled its fires amongst us.

4. Our draught was once pure,
But time has since rendered it turbid.

5. We once inclined towards an open creed,
Yet for us the creed has now narrowed.

6. Who in this world has had his fill of days,
And who has lived and not fallen into pits?

7. If what you now witness gives you wonder,
What you will see later is yet more wondrous.

8. Your return is from glistening sorcery,
And your valley from maladies ever fertile.

9. If you think me ignorant,
Then you are more deserving of your assumption.

10. Be not like the rider of a leopard,
Whom it fears, while you are its prey.

11. Your soul will be seized by calamities,
And you will be weakened by what you seize.

12. It bears you in following your desires,
Upon a mount whose back is humped.

13. So see how wary your descent to earth,
From the back of what you mount and ride.

14. Had I the power to defend you,
I would have driven it away, but I am overpowered.
