1. You embalmed him, O Nasr, with camphor
And raised him to the abandoned residence

2. If only you had embalmed him with some of his attributes
The horizons of homes and graves would have flourished

3. By Allah, if the breeze of his good manners
Was used for consecration and purification

4. You have perfumed the one who dwelt in the earth and ascended the grave
So that they may be equipped for resurrection

5. So go just as youth has gone, for it
Had been the best companion and clan

6. And go just as loyalty has gone, for
The morning and evening winds have blown it away

7. By Allah, I did not eulogize him to increase
His nobility, but the outpouring of my chest
