1. No noble was ever lost among people,
O Abu Sa'd!
١. وَما تاهَ عَلى الناسِ
شَريفٌ يا أَبا سَعدِ
2. Roam as you wish since you are
Without lineage or ancestry,
٢. فَتِه ما شِئتَ إِذ كُنتَ
بِلا أَصلٍ وَلا جَدِّ
3. And since your lot among the rabble
Is between the freeman and the slave,
٣. وَإِذ حَظُّكَ في الأَشبا
هِ بَينَ الحُرِّ وَالعَبدِ
4. And since your slanderer is safe
From punishment or penalty.
٤. وَإِذ قاذِفُكَ المُفحِ
شُ في أَمنٍ مِنَ الحَدِّ
