1. A man whose footsteps halted at Aswan
Left behind no trace for greed to discern.
١. وَإِنَّ اِمرَأً أَمسَت مَساقِطُ رَحلِهِ
بِأَسوانَ لَم يَترُك لَهُ الحِرصُ مَعلَما
2. I dwelt in a place too high for lightning to reach
And too hard for mirage's deception to fathom.
٢. حَلَلتُ مَحَلّاً يَقصُرُ البَرقُ دونَهُ
وَيَعجِزُ عَنهُ الطَيفُ أَن يَتَجَشَّما
