1. I came to abundance complaining of my time
But its overflowing generosity turned against it
١. أتيتُ الفَيْضَ مُشْتَكِياً زماني
فأَعْدَاني عليه جُودُ فَيْضِ
2. Its palm overflowed with gifts
As did the palm of the son of Jesus in times of dearth
٢. وفاضتْ كَفُّه بالبذلِ منه
كما كَفُّ ابن عيسى ذات غَيْضِ
