1. If you had come at dawn to the foothills to hear my news
You would have known that what you blamed me for was no disgrace

2. A yearning for the beloved homeland pulled my reins
And a tear flowed from being separated from my neighbor

3. And I paused though I was not the first there
When the mixture was revealed I treated anguish in the house

4. And you saw my sighs in the lightning, so if your eyes had known
Where that flowing lightning came from

5. Its sparks flew from my repressed soul
Under the darkness, from my ardour and love

6. From every smiling face that flashed like it
And from a melted saliva in its flowing chin

7. And from a throbbing in my heart in a revived desire
Throbbing like its flashing without harm

8. And from a fleeting glance one day of peace
It possessed my roses and did not possess letting me go

9. I threw thinking I was among the tribe of Jusham
So my arrow was deflected and the archer hit my innermost being

10. Is there in the homelands because of my blame and apology
A hostile cure for my passion and memories?

11. Or are you justifying what you do not increase by
Except more cure of hot fire with fire?

12. It was estranged when it saw my white hair and thought
The days of my life, so it turned away O mother of cubs

13. Do you not see me withering, my branch bent
My shade gone, my patience and rest gone

14. And my steps were diminished here and there
So cubits were exchanged with fingers

15. Expelled, the eye wells me with hatred
Among the kings, after my storm, my winds

16. But I did not submit, though my time betrayed me
And I did not humiliate myself, though my supporters disappeared

17. And I may be while no confusion is resolved
Except by the pleasure of my evenings and dawns

18. With the porch of intimacy locked tight
Away from the mud of doors and veils

19. With pillows or above the beds when
The sessions of confidants and night companions are full

20. I propose generosity and wealth, suggesting
From it pure things with my morals and poems

21. I have days from the tribe of Abdul Rahim protectors
Guarding the right of the banner, civilized

22. Fluttering over my right in preserving it
Shooting their hearing and sight towards me

23. So today doors expel me fallen
Cast out like slag under tar and bitumen

24. My praise is tired of and my complaint is not listened to
Nor my threat and warning observed

25. Merit diminishes my assets and belittles me
What would have made me great if I were treated justly

26. This, while they still protect me, even if they were unjust
And watch me from a distance from the house

27. I clung to their name, so it pulled me
That I clung to a weak rope

28. By the purest essence and most fragrant dew
And most generous in hardship and poverty

29. And the victorious in what they said and did
And resolute on danger and defiance

30. The neighbour will not lack glory for his family among them
Nor will their towns be shamed by a neighbour

31. Nor will they refuse the rights if they come
With justifications and excuses

32. The outcast escapes to them without being found tasteless
And the guest leaves them without being forced

33. I walked among them by meteors in the darkness of my hope
Lighting and guiding my night with moons

34. I accompanied them when youth was blossoming in my leaves
So they did not prophesy about me until my yellowing came

35. Drawing me close, they pulled me by the tail of their bounty
Until people saw me following their tracks

36. Until if I claimed in the name of one of them
My voice would not differ from the claimant and the secret

37. They protected the sanctuary of my joy and I lived
Until the attacking wolf was warded off me

38. I spent my time honourably, ensured
The purpose for me and warded off my censure and blame

39. And their hand made my flesh forbidden to my time
And I was safe from fangs and claws

40. My words astonish about it, my miracle is in
Virtue in their eyes, and my news was revealed in truth

41. And what I sent circulated like a parable
In the land, from every house with cars

42. Blessed is the sight of him that expels disasters
Like the darkness being dispelled by the blazing torch

43. The minister whose conduct the page of the king is devoid of sin and burdens
He adorns the truth in his eyes, angered in him

44. By impulses in which there is censure
The state clung to him, and regained

45. Its time between celebration and threat
And time turned away from what it used to blemish

46. From its throne after determination and insistence
Sometimes it flames and then it is luxurious because of

47. His management between heavens and rivers
He protects it when its edges have flourished

48. With his cultivated opinion or his bare sword
It sighs repeatedly blaming his favour

49. Then returns with sweet pardon and forgiveness
So it dies many times and he brings it back to life with his return

50. And it becomes hopeless of its Creator, the Existent
An attribute of villainy that is forgotten when connected

51. To an attribute of nobility and son of free men
Faulty from the clay of kings because of his generosity

52. From which no rock was carved with a chisel
It sways with pride in a chastity that does not carry

53. The shame of a singer or a common hide
Between a minister whose position makes the chest constrict

54. Or a preening heroic king
They divided the land, exposing its chastity

55. With their justice between workers and builders
I inherited them pitch darkness and I gained amidst them

56. An increase of the sword between water and fire
If your ugly face turns away from it disgusted

57. Then your turning away from it is a chosen turning
Or if its beauty fades after you, then for it

58. In another's company there are dresses of disgrace
As for the homelands they are empty and the cats in them

59. Wish from anxiety that they could travel
The register has dried up its plains so the cupbearer finds

60. Nothing but puddle water between rocks
And provision has flown from it, ellipsis

61. Which hope was attached to with grasping talons
They rose to their tails and their heads fell

62. Into profound collapse and destruction
So the land in bankruptcy if displayed

63. And the rule is sold to the highest bidder
And the land owners are slaves traded

64. By night prowlers between inheritors and proxies
Sitting frightened under his gown

65. And the lion earns with effort and wakefulness
One who plays at ruling it with hands

66. Paralyzed between ascendance and descent
He invites you acknowledging the truth of you, and the like of

67. His acknowledgement after refusal has not approached
O neighbour yesterday, his nakedness has softened

68. So show tenderness and observe the sanctity of a neighbour
And rise for it the rise of a buyer with his greatest might

69. And far be it from you to imitate the one who buys and sells
Opinions are fruitless so salvage its remains

70. From yourself with an opinion and creative womb
It has not ceased being compliant in every problem

71. With its cup your horse galloping in every track
And fill it with scattered passions

72. Until it returns to obedience and acceptance
And expand for the hopeful signs of your return that

73. Gained nothing but patience from grief and awaiting
He does not complain of you even if estrangement was long with him

74. Except to you in hiding and showing
There only remains the blaming of him and I reckon him

75. Today or tomorrow dead without vengeance
Were it not for usual kindness from you that rescues me

76. Even if it comes at dawn when cock crows
You visit me while enmity is between me and your tribe

77. Say greetings to it from an intimate friend and visitors
So renew it out of care, for I have a thirst

78. That if it was in the sea would remain with the current
Smooth over my fragments for there is no cave in the land

79. Higher with its companion than fixing my breakage
Your hand so do not cast aside its palms

80. To a separator from the hand of the noble with inhospitality
And if I am absent from you then poetry reminds me

81. And my rhymes suffice you as frequent remembrance
So give them welcome O pillar of the two states for longing

82. Has come with its help and blossoms
Brides that you are the guardian of people courting them

83. And their groom and her father pardon my ideas
And look at them and what great honour they have been given

84. Echoing between protectors and in-laws
While the festival and Eid al-Fitr have passed

85. Its wedding between goldsmiths and perfumers
Two days for Persia or Arabia between them

86. The luck of happiness apportioned by fate
One binds this crown of his father and pridefully

87. Flashes the sword, a risky youth
They partnered the partnership of sincere friends and agreed

88. To peace and did not mention the grudges of Karbala
So dress them in delicate life, piety

89. And fasting you approve and breaking fast
No misfortune has circulated around the house and they raced

92. Diverse places from horizons and cities
Until they performed pilgrimage, then headed

93. To the caller, exchanging poems and good tidings
And blood did not flow in the valley, though they slaughtered

94. And the house was clothed from curtains and veils
Perpetual, may the kingdom be joyous and every radiant

95. Become agreeing to what it desires and preference
And look at them and what great honour they have been given
