1. After your day there is no comfort for the afflicted
From me, nor have I gained the hearing of the dejected

2. The calamity you caused made hearts equal in passion
The hand of ice upon the cheek of the tossing and turning

3. The weeping ones are similar in crying over you
The tears of the grieving did not flow from the simulator

4. We were taunted with dreams when they shook
In sorrow, and we were mocked, eyes filled

5. So today the fleeting has an excuse for anguish
And the blame is upon the composed hypocrite

6. The doves have taken with them the prize of a victor
None have rebelled like it from a nest

7. It was the hand of the true religion and its sword
So I will cry over the unarmed, unarmed

8. Why did I sleep while my seekers were awake
And I was heedless while fate does not neglect

9. I turned my face from the battlefields of my family
Fearing death, though swords are sharpened for me

10. The world charmed me with its hidden secrets
And I was pampered by the past for the future

11. I saw how it takes away my flesh during its play
And I will still be entrusted after

12. I learned that with the goodness of an abode and its fertility
The changing of neighbors, how you changed

13. I did not ride the deceptive horse of hope
A clown that does not reach the goal of the hopeful

14. It loosens its reins to make me gradual
While behind it is the burning marketplace of the hurried

15. A dream adorned by fireflies in the meadows
And its reality at the rising of the slaughtering dawn

16. I count years, my soul pleased by their length
While what benefits you is like the longer

17. When a day passes I'm anxious about tomorrow
And with some of me passed days have severed

18. Be rough when you face your day or depart
And be firm, for you are dead or near

19. It's the same when our souls are grabbed
By an outstretched hand, biting or kissing

20. Fate equalized the elite and the wealthy
So the greedy is the one who did not reason

21. The habitual rebel against his enemies
Is led in shackles, helpless and weak

22. If death avoided the one wearing chastity
Or the ascetic isolating himself

23. The singular in virtues without equal
And unique in merit without peer

24. The speaker of religion who practices when
The jurist says what he does not do

25. It killed the innocent Nu'man
Or spared Salma so he stayed safe from crises

26. The love of security announced his safety
From every incurable affliction

27. The zeal of guidance has defended its sea
Against its waves or its sparkling full moon

28. Ardent hands that support him and souls that refuse rest
Honest struggle and determination at fighting

29. It chased away the sons of vileness from the canal of his tongue
With a skinny Persian sword that has no sharpness

30. His noble men raced each other to support
Their Master the Generous 'Ali's family

31. With every arm severing and overwhelming chest
Like the chest of the courageous knight at war

32. Whose resolve precedes his news
Until he takes risk in the first company

33. A fulfiller of Hajj as if his head was
At battle striking paradise or becoming addled

34. He is not pleased by the horizons of a single raid
That does not tear his clothes to shreds

35. If a gentle-gaited camel were driven it would not trot
Without the neighing that urges it

36. A shelterer that when touched by tiredness' burden
Is satisfied with wiping the place of its saddle

37. They marched and their horsemen called them
To someone upheld from their tribe and pure

38. Distant from relying during weakness upon a lad
Who has full trust in his enemies' blood

39. Generous with sacrificing himself for them established
For the victory of guidance making sacrifices

40. The elite of the elite in the disputes among them
Until he brings them decisive clear proof

41. He clarifies the imamate for them disputing
The governor with verses from the revealed book

42. With a clear path as if never confusing
And trusted honesty as if never hidden

43. Until the enemy's heart and hearing incline
So how can you withstand meeting the loyal guardian

44. Oh carrier, if you inform the deceased
Under the ground the saying of the living messenger

45. Break through the soil, tell Muhammad
From the heart aflame with calamity

46. Who can choke the opponents after you to the chest
An unbearable choke that does not heal or pass away

47. Who can bite his tongue when the lips shrink
And wet his mouth when it does not get wet

48. After you are gone who is the Lord of mysteries
By you the camel bull was parted and the saying separated

49. You aided the fearful confused one to stand
And opened his incomprehensible answer

50. How many to the family of Muhammad's religion
Have you sheltered of the lost and guided hearts misled

51. You have made loving them passionate in a soul
That if you didn't befriend it, it would not be reasonable

52. You are not bothered by flattering the inferior
To report the right of the superior over him

53. May they reward you for them forever
What hearts have continued to be tested and purified

54. You will look unto Ali raising your eyebrows
On resurrection-day from a high place

55. Oh dweller, I protected a sign in the soil
So it remains for long even if eroding

56. A grave by the visitors among their castles
More precious than the belly of a salt marsh

57. I was not afraid you would be buried before seeing you
Fearing a peak would be covered in darkness

58. Who resembled your throne and opposed you unjustly
So you resisted, o conqueror, cutting the ropes

59. Who softened the strike of the sword against you
Fragments falling from the polishing right

60. You had been in the dress of darkness in a garden
Untouched and the most courageous man in an impregnable fortress

61. Safeguarded by your merit not hoping
For your equals the gaze of an observer, hopeful

62. From which sneak hole or hidden surface
Did the hand of betrayal extending reach you

63. I don't consider before you the deception of a spy
Entering the den behind a mighty, roaring lion

64. Or the fist of fate strengthening its grip
Until it defeats a feeble worn out hyena

65. They used to see the merit for the early arriving
Frontrunner, and the deficiency in the latecomer

66. Words of passion and outdated religious rulings
And an issue of customs that were not just

67. Until you rose and they united and realized
That the latter is deficient to the former

68. The early news saddened so it silenced my hearing
And repeated my morning the wings of a long night

69. The intentions of my heart went down for its voice
Like the descent of a flock at the roar of an ignition

70. I did not expect time fighting me
To shoot yet miss that your day is my murder

71. A day that lingered with sadness that does not fade
And distress that does not clear

72. It is as if this is the day of the successor
Defending his end after the sending Prophet

73. My eyes did not see more crying over it
And louder wailing than a flaming lament

74. They crowded around the sides of your coffin, kneeling
Like the thirsty crowd on the edge of a spring

75. Their tears pouring strangely as if before you
There was no bereaved nation of Islam

76. They walk behind you and with you the soil is a meadow
The eyes mixed dust with the feet

77. If my share from knowing you before was
The share of the disappointed with little comfort

78. Then I will give you my dead love
The effort of the willing and the regret of the excusing

79. Or my eyes ran out for you, so let my poems
Cry for you with rhymes that have passion

80. Whenever agony that seeks consolation turns back,
Not leaning as the rejected turns away

81. Your comfort is water I cannot quench my thirst
Thirsty, and fire I cannot warm myself

82. The waterfall counts drops in pebbles
As a mark and checks the valley soils

83. The palm of the south has woven
A dress no hand of a statue can unstitch

84. The pouring clouds surrounding can hear close
The thunder roar of bursting pregnant rains

85. Satisfying your burial place with rushing downpour
Watering your echo and a continuous rain

86. Until the visitors of your grave see
Their feet have landed in a rainy valley

87. Whenever its eyelids droop or shorten
I support it with tears dressing it
