1. I seek guidance from the full moon though it be wroth
And question the bright moon though it wander

2. Two foes of mine in you, O my poetry!
Anger with moons for it and branches.

3. So who's the messenger to you that reminds you
By oaths? Nay, where are oaths from you?

4. Days of veils upon you, in face and not
A nation for me, majestic and graceful.

5. My sin is in custody of morning and bad
Deeds by decree of youth a benefaction.

6. If a beauty deceived me or one who spurned me
After parting, the young gazelles frolic.

7. So I said: my fate is justice of the arrow
Or other than the son of Ayyub among men.

8. As ransom my brother from it where he wore the garb of
Purity and parted and there are no comrades.

9. Smiling face while accused
And thirsty for love while sated.

10. His dream is color and his view for me when
I intercede for him in calamities is colors.

11. Call him for me alone for if you call him two
My faithful heart is brethren.

12. Bounty, pardon, and preservation are
Two roots therefrom and wealth precedence.

13. And goodly aromatic plants in the
Valleys for which noblewomen are branches.

14. From riders of the shoulder of eminence, they
While people are the horsemen of lineages, horsemen.

15. It is as if their honor, when soiled
Vilely, the winds of honor are sweet basil.

16. Bequeathing nobleness the likes of you structure
And protecting pedigrees buildings.

17. O you the age sobered when it garlanded me
From it contention while the age drunken.

18. Listen to Bakr as if listening to her
Dignity from what caprice diminishes.

19. Eyes crave in it mistress of
Limbs if they were ears.

20. She comes to you frequently, more worthy epistle
In beauty and the shapely are peers.

21. On heads of holidays her adornment
As she is queen of days diadems.

22. Not absent at the sacrifice with visit for
Ghadir time for her and season.

23. So possess her and clothe her beauty with it
For each day that passed her was bare.

24. Time diminishes every excess
While you no diminishment visits.
