So it revolted and gained victory

3. The clouds smiled upon its meadows
As the year rained heavily on it

4. It and those whose dust fills it
Are free again and broken strength restored

5. Life has returned to the land so it prospered
And dawn has torn the darkness apart

6. The voiceless intellect has spoken
Its blind have seen, its deaf have heard

7. So enjoy what patience has yielded it
Patience whose fruit is sweet when ripe

8. Your palace, o piercer of the night with spears
The long night must end at dawn

9. Breathe free and open up
For long has your darkness vexed you

10. The sun and moon have risen upon you again
Two stars that when they vanished in glorious endeavor

11. Rose again in the horizon with triumph
Each racing himself to farthest reach

12. One following the other's tracks
Alike, the palm like its sister palm

13. The cubit equal to the cubit well-measured
Whenever a hand reaches high by faith

14. It finds the kingdom's perfection beyond grasp
Both hands are measures of the highest goals

15. One spanned the horizon, the other a cubit
Who sees him as a bouquet, and him as incense

22. And extracted its first fruits and gems
Every brave lad they reared

23. Trusted between the two abysses of his heart
Supreme, whom prohibition cannot stop

24. Nor judgment move if it commands
He reached the heavens, wrapped in his cloak

25. While every stubborn foe despaired
He wrongfully took no blackened share

26. Nor unjustly seized the heights
He protected every legion he joined

27. And held account on every cushion he mounted
God has, through you, created a miracle on earth

28. That exists not among mortal works
So He guided, through you, those who see

29. If the heart or sight were of any use
And informed the guided kingdom

30. That without your pivotal role it cannot endure
For you are the rope binding its edges

31. However the people may twist it, it will tear
Is it not enough that a preacher warns

32. By the trials you have faced and tests you bore
And how, in your hands, did its clay

33. Knead, while in other hands it dissolved?
How many regretted, after a time of pride

34. Ruling without you, but does he regret who prides?
Yes, the distinction between men has appeared to him

35. And his soul counseled itself
So he consulted wisdom and reasoned well

36. You met his madness with your forbearance
The like of you, if wronged, is quick to forgive

37. And you rectified with your efforts
A task whose frustration burdened and dragged many

40. Without your guidance it cannot revolve
Its lamps are lit through you

41. Both absent and present
You are its victorious swords if wronged

43. Justice shines white in it
And if you depart, it awaits you still

44. As if you are the awaited imam
So remedy its ailments with your cure

45. The wound that was deepest has been lanced
Only a breath remains, so grasp it

46. Before the chance for rescue has passed
O vanquisher of drought, gain victory, the year

47. Of afflictions has rebelled against us here
How many glories about you are told

48. Some unambiguous, some hints obscure
With your right hand revive a faded glory

49. Renew the habit of bounty long gone
Approach in joy, embrace the breast

50. You have emptied, with a bouquet make amends
Give the state abundant shade

51. Spread by your clouds, well anchored
Let your enemies' hearts boil with fury

52. While your friends enjoy open delight
Their claws have eaten it

53. When you ruled, all aligned and settled
Things bent to your gesture,

54. Hearts submitting to your evil command
They conspired out of a twisted nature

55. To a wicked peace and hidden wrath
Never, while you live, cease or perish

56. Will their villainy, until they plug their holes
Your rule will know no weakness

57. Except that of days and circumstances changing
Remember me, and describe how you see

58. Signs of your glory, for the generous remember
Speak of my signs, speak of my miracles

59. And my knowledge of all hidden secrets
This, with which I paid you visitation

60. And my auspicious bird, when harried
Why should you not believe in my warnings

61. When I, in praising you, am warner supreme
You have extended my life out of your merit

62. Your luck is my share, of good and ill
Time has tortured my flesh since you departed

63. In your absence burning bone and grating it
Leaving me no wound, except from

64. A claw and fang and rending talon
Eyes spurn me in their love of you

65. And tongues as barbed as arrow heads
I hope for their nearness though misguided

66. And their kindness, like Kahlan hoped for Mudar's love
Better to return from visiting them

67. To a difficult but flourishing abode
So inquire, in your absence, about my welfare

68. And me, when you pass or time shifts
Your tongue, and all who speak through you

69. Whether sensible minds or poetic wits
My expressive capacity has reached its limit

70. So God restrict what I have poured forth
After you, nothing remains in me

71. To hope for provision or expect tomorrow
So fulfill your debt of bounty to me in seclusion
