1. Come let us treat the wounds of life, come let us
Provide our ears with complaints, and bid our eyes farewell

2. And weep over the hands of separation
That we may soften the separation

3. Yet desire has only increased stubbornness
What good is our crying?

4. We are followed by sorrowful sighs
Or is it the mother of Jesus lamenting?

5. We have folded the distance to conceal
Our faces until we bent over

6. To where, oh, do you not suffer
O you, its driver, where to?

7. If you are saddened by sorrow in the midst between us
Then may God liven and change the sand dunes

8. And what is it to me, my brother and the mosque
May God return our prayers

9. We stopped to request the attainment
Of one who delays our debt

10. And we complain of the coldness of the breast
When our hearts kindled

11. Oh Arabs, is betrayal not disgraceful in your religion?
Do you truly ransom yourselves

12. With our souls from the Persians?
How much vengeance is forgotten

13. Blood between our tribes
And wickedness which we warned against

14. Yet fate has led us to this state
So many hopes has the night embraced

15. Beneath our gowns
When dawn rises

16. We reckon them stumbling
We have made the stars’ eyes

17. Upon the sun of daylight, eyes
Oh God, my honesty and passion

18. Widen my scope
And my patience and brother Shauab

19. When I say we have reconciled
I launched an attack of the wolves

20. Eyes that do not guard us
And if loyalty were true

21. The sword of strife would not wound our hearts
By God, the son of Ayyub

22. When a brother adorns
And the calamities of time crept up

23. Snakes twisting around us
And the years bit with the fangs of eternity

24. Passing one after another
We sought for Abu Talib

25. A likeness, but we despaired
And we united him, yet by God, we did not diverge

26. O noble one, we did not coincide in nature or differ
I saw the difficult side in him

27. And the gentle manner
From the ambitious people

28. When the clouds pour down upon us
They see their souls as reaching

29. The pinnacle of glory, so we ran
By God, there are souls that

30. Whisper to each other to reach the heights
The days of fate surpassed you

31. When events deafened us
And the long nights outlived

32. Your life while we vanish
The days of celebration, do they not break

33. Fast or feast while we sacrifice?
In you we see the beautiful wishes

34. We wished but did not attain
