1. Forbidden are the valley's pleasures,
And its corners all around.

2. Sing to her if a pipe excites her,
Her ears ring with the lash’s sound.

3. Take her ahead of youth a portion,
Perhaps counted with steeds she’ll be.

4. Prostrate and seated she's discarded you,
Shattered are the house's stones and club's wood.

5. How long will you seek pardon with persistence?
You’ve reached the utmost persistence.

6. If you excuse the rubbish’s mixtures,
In the valley will mix your feet.

7. Glory lies not in rooms hidden,
Nor wealth in the bundle and column.

8. Stroll, oh soul, or collapse,
Either into misery or purpose gained.

9. The souls, know, when carried
Imprisoned in these bodies.

10. Better than ample provision and harm
Is to flick the ground without provision.

11. Weary am I, even my brother denies me
And my home's dogs in the night my figure.

12. How many people I carry upon their blemishes,
The back is taxed and the guide's gift sought.

13. In every house a yelping dog bothers
My side though courteous and affectionate.

14. And dreams of me so if I make him happy
On an awful day, he takes to resting.

15. He likes me with no need,
If I slip away he too departs.

16. When I lose my count I laugh
At my bragging of the numbers' much.

17. Familiar upon her fancies and tricks
Do her lightning bolts in separation’s desolation.

18. I and resolve are not safe
My chest slits upon my heart.

19. Defect rejoiced in merit and
Incapacity prevailed upon competence.

20. So refrain from reaching and eschew praising him
Though through corruption you may rectify.

21. Do not refrain from the commander’s gift
Sent purposely or dependence.

22. But it is an orphaned jewel
Cast by seas into solitude.

23. Brought by childless mothers
A strange woman in birth.

24. Leave the people for him to buy singing,
For plenty, and compete in gift giving.

25. And make enduring glory judge among them
And in him, and ask the witnesses’ tongues.

26. With the near kin present among them
What is absent of that far cried out.

27. How excellent between Babylon’s houses
A house where guests lose their way guiding.

28. It hopes for generosity what surrounds it,
Honored by spring upon plateau.

29. Lit for guests' three fires
If they lavish the embers with fuel.

30. A house whose wide door's muddy
Its sitting place easy, food plenty.

31. If eroded in origin by a confused root
Lined with fathers and forefathers.

32. From Muhammad are lifted its gloomy sides
The dark corners from firewood.

33. Radiant he shows in the night his forehead
Over the reddened planet's concealment.

34. He ruled and the mantle of Temim was not worn
With the two finest qualities and birth.

35. And he gave until the scales cried out at him
You’ve been stingy, most generous!

36. From youths who gathered around the dew
As camels gather around the watering places.

37. And they managed glory thus sealed what they ruled
As swords seal the sheaths’ openings.

38. They walked the lofty ways, the star trails
And scents follow the passerby's tracks.

39. They follow a level whose summit
Succeeds time’s decades in ascension.

40. Two by two till focused
Upon the full moon's halo by schedule.

41. For the unable discourse from their rule
Upon it what for the driven camel.

42. They are the horses’ hearts as they are
If resolute, tongues of the tent pegs.

43. Has any rider guaranteed his need
Anger of rending, reins' release?

44. Unrestrained when bound,
From exhaustion the market complains.

45. She flows before the downpour or is excited
By her amusement before the caller calls.

46. The night accuses not her dawn,
Nor fears the terror of predators.

47. For her is the ample sky she wished
Urging you in speed and distance.

48. True are the moments though lies
An eye of a bowman on watch.

49. Then convey - though your blame is good -
A greeting from the anguished heart.

50. Into it pours its passion as if
Not issuing complaint to loved ones.

51. Say to the living's commander between Babel
And kindness your districts overflowed.

52. Not have I grumbled or slept blaming
Neither raving nor forgetful of my pillow.

53. Yearning for you has shone me thirsty
With sweetness from my cool friends.

54. No lover's specter visited me
Except I blocked his way and pillow.

55. Nor did I scent morning's dew,
Except you emerged within my thoughts.

56. And the moon relates you so my sight ails
As if its whiteness were my supporter.

57. Is there defect in meeting's water
Quenching this disputes thirst?

58. Why do you not permit nearness as
You permit wealth and charity?

59. You are generous while the intents are stingy,
How wondrous stinginess from generous!

60. You've ruled me by love and plenty together,
While plenty crowns cups of affection.

61. And nature led my neck to you smoothly
Like rope to difficulty's guiding.

62. From you I've borne hand after hand
With shoulders bearing no hands.

63. Before you were no selfish aims of mine
Touch of benefactor’s hand or intimate's.

64. Stances you've given extravagantly
While the sea gives me in moderation.

65. So I do not blame fortune except you stand for me
With favor making even it praise me.

66. And I do not call people unless you make me
Needless of them call you.

67. You were not like my deceiving friend, whose lightening
Cared not for snakes or guiding.

68. Who brings my praise with melting tongue
With hypocrisy and frozen hand.

69. Dew has not known in it gentleness, nor
Enriched by elder in giving.

70. Entering glory of generous erroneously
An increase of lineages in increase.

71. Stinginess has ruled his nature
As breach ruled over the appointed time.

72. You will know me thankful, diligent,
If his pardon suffices my diligence.

73. With all envied by hearing it
Of many loved ones and envious.

74. Composed for it honest, ample,
Its ample share the reciter’s mouth.

75. So strange as if what was created
From the perfume of this known word.

76. My regard raises it above the burden of
Utterance and meaning - familiar raiding.

77. It covers you either with congratulations in heights
Or greetings of feast at early morn.
