10. O Saad! Take precautions with a guarded hand
That turns a close comrade with gratitude to the giver

11. If the day of my triumphant aid eluded you
Then make use of the next with the wisdom of the reasonable

12. Glory did not abandon you when I left
And tears, or when I surrendered to the blamer

13. And indeed you saw, so did you see a situation
Where truth is clothed with falsehood?

14. And the spears of , equipped with armors, belts and swinging swords
Whose strikes mimic the fall of arrows and fingers

15. Youth bid farewell, when it was time for them
Out of envy for them over departing beauty

16. They were distracted except for a stealthy glance
That ignites passion, or a subtle wink

17. As for what they entrusted, none but protectors
The day they left, saying nothing but farewell

18. And their talk, it echoes
If it echoes, like rain pouring from saturated clouds

19. They moved away, so I did not endeavor to join them
To protect them, or spend the night with someone who reconciles

20. You blame me for utmost loyalty to you
Oh distant voice, saying: who is the sayer?

21. And it would be hard for me to presume
To nullify when protectors have unraveled my ropes

22. And this green one transfers its gray hair
Closer to diminishing my merits

23. I am one whom you knew long ago and recently
With certainty of knowledge, though ignorant of inquiries

24. Rise, O kings, and pitch my soul its tents
Be successful in my latter and early days

25. My disobedience in a leader’s council does not harm
Unless with a quiver or arrows

26. We are the just governors, though our traces
Were the adornment of stalled time

27. When people were devoid of our leadership
Wolves crept on unsettled packs

28. Through us the world was civilized, so excuse its
Silversmithing, and the life of its vain youth

29. Crowns smile over our heads
Above every bright-faced crescent-bearded one

30. Like the moon permitting greetings, so when it rises
The weapons of a valiant lion shine

31. Whoever counts himself, his pride and tribe
We have traces competing with his

32. And in our remainder is the sweetness of Sood
That shows you some lost favor

33. So when opponents contend over their glories
The proof of our glory appears completely

34. This garden from that clouds' shadow
And light from that fading flame

35. And if you lose the sun, deputize its light
With a likeness of the moon, or its resemblance

And if you seek refuge, it is the day of inclusive safety

45. And if he speaks, his good news tells of his gifts
The murmur is known in front of an inquiring valley

46. His manners were sipped, between exhilarated
Or mellow with inclination

47. As if the pouring of a mixed drink
In a cup, from his manners and traits

48. He took on leadership, rising to its conditions
Heavy upon the carrier’s neck

49. No heretic’s argument stood when he prevailed
Angry at the injustice of fate, disputing

62. And you bent your side to the destitute in humility
Until you were like a beggar asking the beggar

63. I am one whose heart you settled in, emptying it
So you settled in a homeland madly in love with you

64. And possessed it with unconditional love
Not earned by obligatory or voluntary charity

65. And you called it, so the Lord of sincerity answered
A kindred spirit, who found none as sincere as you

66. No greed drove it, nor did zeal for your presence
Hasten it like the arrival of a caravan

67. Except the love of kinship, and caring for in-law relations
Tightened between me and you

68. And if I describe you, it is a description of my virtues
And if I praise you, it is praise of my tribes

69. And it is more right that I divert praise to its cause
Than wearing a garment while devoid of meaning

70. And poetry to you is the slightest of my means
In what I seek, and most subtle of my methods

71. I have certainly recoiled the horses of men from it
And raised it above every afflicted house

72. And prevented it as the jealous man prevents his daughters
From sullying its chastity with immoralities

73. And I was careful to extract its core, delving deeply
While people skim above the coast

74. So listen to your share from it, and toss the rest
And if you listen, then compare to it and parallel

75. I have praised, so I was the most truthful sayer
And you acted, so you were the noblest doer

76. And perhaps your glory disdains, so I sufficed
With you, pasturing away from every withering valley

77. And perhaps your palm disdains to overflow its streams
So I sufficed from seeds for them, and methods

78. Many generous men unlike you exist
Who grew fat under the emaciating conditions I carried

79. And endured them lightly, their hands bearing
Burdens placed on my weary arms

80. And I reckon that you walk their path
And sincerely emulate men in disposition

81. The Nayrooz crescent heralded your coming
Bearing regards from a beloved reconciler

82. A day that loved attending the drink of dew
So it came to you in a delegation of abundant praise

83. Declaring its superiority to you in Persia
And its enduring, towering right

84. And dispraising you in a thousand days like it
In glory - its years witness the next

85. Your generosity made it compete, describing life
And vegetation, to the barren, malnourished land

86. It outran Spring, so it was the luckiest guide
And it recounted prosperity, so it was the most truthful conveyor

87. It met you as something new like its name
So wear it, and meet good fortune and requite

88. And spur on time, keeping pace with its days
In blessings, grace, and heedless living
