1. Death is written in the scrolls of lovers,
And separation was predetermined and foretold.
2. If my night is long, the face of dawn is its advent,
From the face of one who is veiled from my eyes.
3. If only he knew from my symptoms that, because of his absence,
The tail of tears on my cheek is drawn.
4. It seems that my eyelids, from remembering him,
Are a supple branch, beaten by the breezes.
