1. Victories kept unfolding as vengeance was taken,
And the affairs of Muslims found stability.

١. توالت فتوحات وأدرك ثارُ
وقرَّ لأمر المسلمين قرارُ

2. The sword of Allah was unsheathed by its champion of faith,
With it he set a limit to transgression and went too far.

٢. وجرد سيف الله ناصرُ دينه
فصال به حَدَّ له وغِرارُ

3. War bowed to him despite its supporters,
And if it forgot him for a while, it would soon remember.

٣. ودانت له الحرب العوان وأنها
وإن لئن أنساً به لَنوار

4. Its affairs will return to him as it is submissive,
Broken by his might, humiliated and deterred.

٤. يُرَدّ إليه أمرها وهي شامسٌ
لها مسحل من قهره وعرار

5. As if the orbits of events circle around a towering peak,
A smooth slope for conquests to glide down.

٥. كأنّ مطاف الحادثات بشاهق
منيف الذري للفتح فيه مطارُ

6. Hardships of fate slip off its surfaces,
As dust slips off the blade of a polished sword.

٦. تزلّ خطوب الدهر عن صفحاته
كما زلّ عن صفح الحسام غبار

7. O champion of faith, who brings pride
To the architects of glory, Arab or foreigner.

٧. فيا ناصرَ الدين الذي فخرت به
بناةُ المعالي يعربُ ونزارُ

8. The enemies know you wield a sword
That destroys and wrecks them without hinder.

٨. لقد علم الأعداء إنك منتضٍ
حساماً لهم هُلكُ به ودمار

9. You follow God’s guidance and get angry
For His sake, jealous of His approval.

٩. وإنك حزب الله تسعى بهديه
وتغضب في مرضاته وتغار

10. With your hand the sword of God you strike them,
Who can seek refuge from the strike of Thul-Fiqar?

١٠. بكفك سيف الله تضربهم به
وهل يحتمي من ذي الفقار فقار

11. God’s horses charge at them angrily
As the night expelled the beasts at dawn.

١١. تَسُلُّهُمُ خيل الإلَه عوابسآ
كما طرد الليلَ البهيم نهارٌ

12. Squadrons of God swarming wrathfully
With support for Muslims as their motto.

١٢. كتائب في ذات الإله مشيحةٌ
لها بغياث المسلمين شعار

13. So they fled while spears gored them,
Shrieking from their blows in panic.

١٣. فولّوا فِراراً والرماحُ تنوشهم
لهم حَيَدٌ عن وقعها ونِفارُ

14. They came to you submissively, humbled,
With nothing left but their heads as offerings.

١٤. وجاؤوك في دوح قناك غصونه
فليس لها إلاّ الرؤوس ثمارُ

15. You led them until they rebelled,
Then you destroyed them, a lesson and a loss.

١٥. أضفتهم حتى إذا ما تمردوا
أضفت بهم تبآ لهم وخسار

16. You calmed your sword which glimmered
With God’s light, its brilliance and dignity.

١٦. وأروع بسام عليه سكينة
من الله بادٍ نورها ووقارُ

17. With it you adorned the neck of glory with pearls
Whose enjoyment is long despite their brevity.

١٧. عمرت به جيد المعالي قلائداً
يطول بها الإمتاع وهي قصار

18. O emblem of glory with which you embroidered
Its beauty, and which shines among its pearls.

١٨. فيا علم المجد الذي طرزت به
حلاه واضحى في ذراه منار

19. The subjects sleep with ease and tranquility
While you stay awake, protecting and alert.

١٩. تنام الرعايا ملء أجفانها كرىً
ونومُك تسهادٌ له وغرارُ

20. So if you rest from rule for an instant
It remains your main support while you are its bracelet.

٢٠. فلا عُطِّلَت منك الوزارة أنها
هي المعصم الحالي وأنت سوار

21. Live long, O savior of Muslims, for your life
Brings honor to the world and pride.

٢١. وعش يا غياث المسلمين فإنما
حياتك عزٌ للورى وفخار

22. Rule as a king as long as the eye beholds its match,
And the two hands accompany wishes and hopes.

٢٢. ودم مَلِكاً ما ساوت العين أختها
وما صحبت بمنى اليدين يسارُ
