31. And the most generous people when they feast are lavish
If the angels stripped themselves of the garb of praise

32. He would rebuff them and descend
And if they were stingy and made praise cheap

33. He would see praise, even if expensive, cheap
If glory ascended in the sky he would have ascended

34. If given the world's wealth he would have given
Had the One who appointed him secured his subjects

35. He would have guaranteed their provisions
When resolved against enemies, he left their countries

36. With an army whose ferocity filled the highlands
And his view a shining light when he set forth

37. For perils in the dark night clouded
May your likes perish among kings not pretending

38. If given good or not adorning themselves
When a composer or poet tries praising you

39. He concocts attributes for you and imagines
Though promised little delayed increment

40. You gave abundant immediate fulfillment
They overflow to you while praising though he

41. Sees praise in him false and pretentious
You thrill the praiser praising you when you see

42. Your actions in him summarized and detailed
His mouth utters only what you have done

43. For you are the one who honored yourself
You slit the tongue of praise then let it loose

44. When frowns tied the tongues and locked
The Franks' sanctuary became under you

45. A paved path for wayfarers, gentled
The fearsome horseman feared meeting you

46. Deeming one of you as five and a squadron
Had they been multiples when they assembled
