1. A hand was cut off that had cut his braided hair

١. قُطِعَت يَدٌ قطَعت ذَوائِبَ شَعره
لِم طاوَعَت ذا أَمرَها في أَمرِهِ
2. They cut his braids to erase his beauty
And unveiled the darkness of his night from his face
٢. قَطَعوا ذَوائِبَه لِيَمحوا حُسنَه
فَجَلوا غَياهِبَ لَيلِهِ عَن ثَغرِهِ
